So I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this title yet. Suburban Dykes is one of the first pornos I ever watched on purpose. Sure, I’d giggled over skin-e-max movies and had seen bits and pieces of horrifying things over the years, but this one was planned out in my junior year of college. It is, despite the totally dated hair and clothes, still one of the best lesbian movies I’ve ever seen and let me tell you why.
First, it stars Nina Hartley. Since I manage to bring up my love for her about once a week, I will say no more.
Secondly, Dr. Sharon Mitchell plays a bad-ass butch chick who rocks a purple strap-on cock with a gorgeous lean body. Mitchell is a porn goddess and the Director of the Adult Industry Medical Health Care Foundation. I have a think for chicks with brains, hence my fascination with Hartley, Mitchell, and my nerdy girlfriend.
Next up is the movie’s focus on safe sex. Not only do they practice it, but Mitchell takes the time to talk briefly about it before fucking Hartley.
Finally, the sex is hot. The women have incredible chemistry, and while they’re sometimes silly (there’s a pillow fight) - when it comes to the dirty parts, these women are 100 percent dedicated to pleasure. The final threesome is fantastic and each woman’s desire is apparent. When Pepper begs to fuck Mitchell, it’s obvious just how bad she wants it and what follows is magic.
In a perfect world, these three women would get together and film an updated version of this movie to prove that women of all ages are sexy as hell. I have no doubt that it would be absolutely amazing, even without Pepper decked out in a pirate shirt!

As a human sexuality grad student, I know I’m supposed to have all this higher thought about gender fluidity and expression and all that, but really, when it comes to watching dirty androgynous punk queers sucking and fucking each other with strap-on cocks, my mind is reduced to mush and all I can do is stare and drool. And with this movie, I was nearly catatonic. Scene three, aptly titled “Butch Fire” was what really did me in. Not only was it a super turn on to watch two fiercely attractive butches plow into one and another with dicks and hands (at one point there was definitely two hands in one vag at the same time!), but a perfectly positioned mirrored closet door provided the ultimate second angle needed to send this scene over the edge.
My favorite thing about this movie was that pretty much everyone got both topped and bottomed during their scene - especially since almost everybody was strapped on and continued to be while being fucked. Hottt! You get my 5 stars Fatale Media! I’d throw in a sixth if I could.

Is this movie just a little bit strange? Yes, but it’s also worth watching. I did have more than a few “WTF” moments, but the giant orgy in towards the end, full of BDSM, tops, bottoms, lesbians, transguys and so much more, makes up for all the confusion caused in this film. As usual with Fatale Media, major props for their continued use of safer sex in their films…they even use a condom when one of the waitresses is being fucked with her own pepper mill (again, WTF?). The plot line is a little confusing, but the stars, outfits and sex are incredibly hot, so it doesn’t really matter how much you understand. From fisting to nipple clamps, and robotic costumers with metallic painted faces to sex with your own doppelganger, this is a film to be watched. Whether you check it out for the sex or just to see what the hell is going on, I hope you enjoy it!

 In this movie, you get two for the price of one, and both are more than worth it. It starts out with “Afterschool Special.” This is made by amateurs, but you’d never believe it. This ‘bad girls vs. the good girl dyke gang bang’ is so unbelievably hot. The good girl is good at what she does, and so is the hot butch banging and fisting her as she sucks another bad girl’s dick. By the end of this film, I was wishing that I was a good girl in Boston, just so I could be fucked into being a bad girl! The fun doesn’t end there - there is a short burlesque bit, followed by film two of the double feature: “Turn Me Up, Over, and On.” I thought the first one was hot, and this one is too, but in a completely different way. The butch/femme couple here has unbelievable chemistry, and the orgasms are intense. They come early, and they come often. Very hot. By themselves, these are two sexy and enjoyable films.
