Happy Earth Day! I don’t care about Tiger Woods.  At all.  Sure, I’ve blogged about his debacle a few times since it broke a few weeks back, but as the mistress count rises upward to double digits, I am putting a ban on Tiger talk… at least for me.  Before we enact this proclamation, let’s reiterate that Woods did indeed bed a few porn stars, including Holly Sampson and Joslyn James during his boink fests, so yes there is that porno connection.  And now, we shall never speak of him again (until the Tiger porn parodies  start rolling in).

Thanksgiving is here and we are ready to celebrate!  Sure, most people associate the holiday with turkey and pumpkin pie, but we here at HM4Her are all about being thankful for what we have.  I guess when you get paid to write about sexin’ all day, you’ve got a lot to be thankful for!  While that is on the top of my list, there are a few other things that have really made this year amazing.  So, in no particular order, the here are the top few things that I am truly thankful for this year.

Queen Beds

After a long time of sleeping on smaller beds, a queen sized bed has made it’s way into my life and I am in love.  Finally, my girl and I can cuddle our faces off for as long as we want, then separate to sleep and never even have to touch each other if we don’t want to.  No more “I have an inch til I fall of the bed and you have a mile” bickering!  Oh and let’s just say that all that extra room is quite nice when it comes to my other favorite horizontal activities… like watching movies in bed!  I am so, so thankful for this lovely new bed (courtesy of my girlfriend moving into a bigger house).

Silicone

Silicone toys rock my world.  No matter what shape or size (though Talula, pictured, is my absolute favorite), this material is body safe, tough and comes in such a variety of colors and textures that you could never get bored.  It’s freaking amazing!  Plus you can boil silicone toys to sterilize them.  I don’t know what I like more – that my toys are super clean, or that I get to have a pot full o’ dildos on my stove from time to time.  I like to call it Dildo Soup.  (I have a special dildo pot too!)

Queer Porn

I know, I know, it’s kind of obnoxious to be thankful for my stupid phone, but I went through the most annoying freelance editing experience ever to make the extra funds to indulge my techy side.  Four words for you:  gay, vampire, teen, novel.  Enough said? Ug. I love my phone and I am thankful for it.  Plus I got an app that turns it into a “massager.”  Woohoo!

Pure Wand

Ok, I got this steel bad boy back in spring of ’08, so technically it doesn’t count as something new this year, but every time I go within 2 feet of the pretty black box that houses my Pure Wand, my knees go weak.  Still, nearly two years later.  So, I think it’s safe to say that I am just as thankful for this 1.5 lb steel wand than I was the first day it landed on my desk.  And, if I ever get njoy’s Eleven, I’ll probably be so thankful that I’ll build a shrine and make ritual sacrifices from my toybox.  Anyway, these steel toys are so awesomely hot.  Thank you njoy!

Of course, I’m thankful for my family, my rad girlfriend and my friends as well.   I know I’ve got it good and I enjoy celebrating all the stuff that keeps me happy and healthy.  So, thanks to all the great people in my life too!

I was a little surprised the first time I saw the Ella, a relatively new product from luxury company Lelo. Every toy I have by them is a super high-end vibe and this little double ended dildo didn’t seem to quite fit in. I mean, don’t get me wrong, this is an amazing toy of the highest quality, but they seemed to be pretty focused on vibrators.

Fortunately for the masses, they have branched out a bit because this pleasure object is really great. It’s made out of super sweet silicone and Lelo definitely had a woman’s body in mind when the designed it’s perfect g-spot curve. For those of you who are interested, the other end is more of a standard straight dildo that feels really great also and is really nice for teasing or thrusting!

Like all of my other Lelo toys, the Ella comes in a really nice black box that is perfect for storage. If you’re running out of storage space like me, they’ve also provided a white satin bag as an alternative. Also included are information on the one-year warranty (!) and an instruction manual that warns against silicone lube and offers maintenance information.

The brilliant minds at Lelo suggest you use this dildo with a vibe, and while I would have thought of it eventually, I made sure I had one of my favorite vibes right next to me when I took this one for a test ride. Let me tell you, this baby finds it’s way right to your g-spot without any effort and the silicone transfers vibration really well. After a couple of test runs – solo and with the girl – I am really digging this toy.

However, for the record, this toy is not your traditional double-ended dong. When I read that, I assumed it would be enough for two people to use at the same time. It’s not. In fact, at just seven inches long with a 1 ¼ inch diameter, it’s pretty small.

Knowing that, if you are a fan of toys that have a little more girth, this is probably not the toy for you. I personally think it’s so well designed that size doesn’t matter much, but it’s something you should definitely be aware of. One nice thing for me about the shape and size is that the g-spot end makes for a nice handle and it’s a nice toy for anal play. Just be wary of your grip so it doesn’t get lost and you don’t end up spending a night in the ER! You should also make sure you sterilize it using the usual methods before using it vaginally again!

Overall, I’m really impressed with the Lelo Ella and will admit that it’s right at the top of my toy list with the Pure Wand. It doesn’t have the heft of my steel bff, but it is pretty amazing for g-spot stim.

It’s mid January and I’m guessing people are already beginning to give up on their New Years Resolutions. I’m happy to announce that my resolution to be awesome is going strong. I am a thankful, thankful girl.  Not only do I get to watch porn all day long and write about sex for all you guys, I get to watch porn all day and write about sex for you all and get PAID to do it.  Um… and I get to review sex toys.  I win!!!  So, like I said, I have a lot to be thankful for.  But aside from being super thankful of my job, here – in no particular order – are a few other things I am thankful for:
