Menage a Trois is all about three sexy and desirable porn stars within their respective genres. It is so hard to choose just one, so I figured why not have three stars to worship. Besides, it’s more fun with three.
James Darling is one sex pot of a queer porn star. He is based in Oakland and definitely has that Bay Area vibe. I was recently in Vegas with James and had a chance to really get to know him better.
1. How did you get your start in porn?
My first scene was for Crash Pad Series. My long distance lover at the time invited me to be part of a shoot and I happily accepted. I hopped on a Greyhound, traveled across the country and never looked back. I had no money, job, or place to live, but I couldn’t think of anything better than getting paid to fuck someone I was deeply attracted to in the way I like to have sex for a queer audience.
2. What was the first porn you ever saw? Did that have a role into you becoming a porn star?
The first porn I remember watching besides scrambled stuff on the Spice channel was “Behind the Green Door” at a friend’s sleepover. I was enthralled by the epically trippy slow motion cumshots. I’ve have not gotten over my fetish for cum since.
3. Who are the 3 top people in porn that you haven’t worked with but want to and why?
I have a lot of crushes but I think it would be really awesome to work with 1) Aiden Starr, because she is a stone cold fox and she’s a very talented and creative Domme; 2) Brenn Wyson, I really enjoy his work on Kink Men sites. If you’ve never seen his creepy janitor scenes they are really hot; 3) Danni Daniels, because she is the badass Grace Jones alien superstar of porn.
4. If you weren’t making porn, what do you think you’d be doing?
Right now my “day job” is working at a porn company as production assistant. Being a porn performer is mostly a hobby for me. So I guess I would just find another hobby. What do other people do? Collect stamps? Build model airplanes? Take up rock climbing?
5. Who are the companies that you have worked for?
As much as I love the steaming phallic nature of sausage, it kinda creeps me out. I do love bacon though! I do not use bacon-flavored toothpaste by any means, but eating it the morning after an amazing sex is pretty amazing.
7. When you were a little kiddo, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Today is my 2 year anniversary with HotMoviesForHer.com. Some days it feels like I’ve been working here forever (we just mesh well) and others seem like it’s only been a minute. I guess it’s true what they say about time flying when you are having fun. And fun is definitely what I’ve been having, peddling the girlie smut and bringing all I know about sexin’ to you ladies. - Dinah Shore weekends 2008 & 2009. Sponosoring this massive lezzie event is not only an awesome way to help the lesbian community get to know us, it’s a fabulous way for us to really get to talk to tons of women about porn and what things they’d like to see on a porn site just for women. Watching Pat Benetar, Margaret Cho, the Idigo Girls, Lady Gaga and bunches of girls in binkinis is just a perk. Oh, that and hanging out with The Porn Librarian. It’s the only time of the year I get to see her face-to-face, so Palm Springs is extra fun!
Last Friday I spent the day hanging out at the 8th Annual Philadelphia Trans-Health Conference and got my learn on about all the new medical and health info going on in the transgender community. This conference is near and dear to my heart and I’ve been either attending or volunteering for a bunch of years. This year I was lucky enough to not only go to learn, but to also preach the porno gospel and hand out free 30-minute cards for HotMoviesForHer.com.
While I was super excited to pass out our cards and turn people on to great porno, I wasn’t quite sure how it would go over. I mean, we are HotMoviesForHer.com, so what about all the people I wanted to talk to that don’t identify as her? I certainly didn’t want to make anyone uncomfortable. And the fact is that we have some of the most awesome female-to-male trans porn that’s on the market and more hot queer porn than you can shake a stick at!
Well, turns out I just need to quiet my buzzing Virgo brain more often, because no one gives a crap about a name when you are giving them access to free hot porn. We could be called BirdSharkFishButt.com and folks would still come a-running at the mere mention of hot queer humping. That said, everyone that I spoke with was super excited about HotMoviesForHer and what we have to offer. Ian Sparks is one of the guys responsible for bringing queer porn to another level. His film studio, Trannywood Pictures, creates award winning movies that feature male-identified folks in all points of transition having hot, hot sex with other male-identified guys. 1. How (and when) did you get started in the industry?
About 4 years ago, I became one of the owners of a gay safe sex club in San Francisco (EROS). We have a very community, mission focused model that includes a free community classroom, art gallery and a lounge that is available for all gender events. We wanted to expand our safe sex message and our focus on normalizing a variety of body types. So, when we decided to try our hand at doing a niche film, it was either going to be a bears of color movie, or a gay trans men film. A couple of our staff were in Morty Diamond‘s “Trannyfags” and we realized we had enough talent to go in that direction. That was around 2006. My own screen debut was in a Colt Studio film, called “Beyond Perfect” (2005)….I just had a non sex roll, but Mr. Pam was one of the camera operators and I got a lot of screen time. Shit, I would have been WAY more interested in high school english if Morty Diamond was teaching it. If these toolbags that are giving them trouble took even five minutes to actually watch Trans Entities: The Nasty Love Of Papi And Wil, they might realize that they are dealing with an amazingly smart person challenging gender and sexuality norms.

I love porn. Duh, right? Of course I love watching hot sex on screen, but when it comes to porn, sometimes there’s so much more to love than just what’s on the surface. But the real reason I’m thinking of Morty Diamond is a video that he just posted this weekend called Tranny Triptych, which features him and Glenn Marla – who, from what I can tell from his myspace, seems to be a fabulous performer in NYC (and apparently friends with people I know in Philly – weird!) - talking about navigating being trans and how they relate to their bodies. I’m not sure if this video was for something in particular, but it is awesome and totally worth watching.
