The 2009 Feminist Porn Awards, my favorite porn awards show of the year, is coming up later this week and not only am I super excited to see who takes home awards, I am extra thrilled because I get to be there! I even get to present an award, which I am all squeallly (and crazy nervous) about. So, in honor of The Feminist Porn Awards taking place this week, I am dedicating the Top Five Tuesday to talking about my top five 2009 nominees. Picking only five titles out of the ridiculously awesome pool of nominees was really difficult and more than once I found myself thinking about renaming this week as “Top Ten Tuesday,” but eventually I settled on five that really grabbed my attention and had me fanning myself as I watched. Not all pornos are created equal. When it comes to girl on girl action especially, the category runs from long fingernailed straighties delicately touching their bored counterparts to super hot dykes fucking like there’s no tomorrow. Tail Of A Bondage Model: While I’m not usually into fetish really, I pretty much love anything Madison Young puts out.  And this rope bound romp not only brings on the kink and lots of it, we get a whole host of spoken word and visual art along with actual acting.  I love when Gauge (Jiz Lee) makes Madison pay for all the pain she’s caused in their relationship.  It’s got love, revenge and emotions that make me feel like Gauge is really hurting. First Dates: Whether it’s Kimberly Kane pretending to be a vegan or April Flores pissing outdoors, this movie is all about the dialogue and acting to make it work just right.  Seriously, the sex is better in all three scenes because of the storyline.  And, of course, the story is better because of the sex!  They play off each other perfectly and make this movie one of my favorite smutty flicks.  Recommendations for all!

Nina Loves Girls: Nina loves girls, and we love both girls and Nina, so clearly this is a win-win movie for us!  The difference with this video is that Nina Hartley isn’t actually acting, she’s naturally this hot, kinky, fun!  All four scenes are packed full of awesome acting, super hot sex and Nina, Nina, Nina!

Safe Is Desire: Alright, I’ll admit it, this movie is totally ’90s and it kind of watches like a safer sex ed video.  But that’s what makes it so good, I promise!   Allie and Dion keep it hot and safe, which in turn kicks up the sex appeal even more.  Prepare yourself for dated outfits and frank discussions about HIV/AIDS, but don’t pass this one by!

Post Apocalyptic Cowgirls:  A radical dyke raunchfest in the desert – does it get hotter than that? Surgeon takes advantage of green-haired London’s sexy submissive ways and gets her going all over the sandy terrain.  Not a ton of talking, but they make me believe ever second of it.  If you like rough and tumble lezzie action, look no further.

First things first, I’m pretty sure this is my favorite porno cover of all time! It manages to combine my two favorite things in the world – girls making out and books. I thought that Perversions Of Lesbian Lust 1 was the perfect way to kick off our Dinah week lesbian review extravaganza. It’s a little kinkier than a lot of the super Sapphic flicks we feature and definitely hot.

Those of you who are not into kink, shouldn’t immediately dismiss this movie because the first scene between director Madison Young and Lorelei Lee is awesome and pretty, for lack of a better term, vanilla. From that point on, things get frantic as they girls fuck and suck for fifteen of the hottest minutes I’ve seen in a while.

This scene sets up the rest of the movie by showing us Young with an ex who just couldn’t give her what she needs in the bedroom. Even though they had great sex (and trust me, they do) Young isn’t getting what she wants. I loved watching Young struggle to show Lee how to dominate her (choking, slapping, whatevs) and not really getting it. Plus, the scene is still hot as hell and it actually moves the plot along. I know the idea of an actual plot in porn is hard to grasp, but there’s one here and they’re sticking to it!

Next up we see Madison in a solo scene where she acts out her online lover’s every desire. Happy Wednesday! Not only is it Humpday, it’s also two days til Spring begins!!  I don’t know how any of you are containing yourselves – I’m certainly not.  I’d be jumping up and down if didn’t interfere with my typing.  It’s also been a crazy busy day.  We are going to The Dinah in a few weeks and getting everything ready is a full time job in itself!  But better late than never, right?  Time for Humpday link love!

The spirit of the “Superfreak” himself, Rick James, goes around possessing queers and making them want to fuck. I seriously don’t think a plot gets better than this. Alright, if it were any other director or any other stars, I might question all those other aspects you need to suspend disbelief for, like why Rick James is back and what’s he doin’ with the dykes. But this movie is a Shine Louise Houston creation, starring Madison Young, Syd Blakovich and Jiz Lee (to name only a few), so no matter what, I knew this movie would be stellar. I feel totally comfortable making the blanket statement that Houston cannot seem to make bad porn. Everything that comes out of her camera is totally hot and always the finest of production quality. Can you beat that really? I know it sounds like propaganda, but it’s just true. Anyway, back to the Superfreak!

The hotness starts when James hops into Madison Young in scene one, making her work herself into a screaming orgasm with the super powerful Hitachi Magic Wand. What an opener! With a start like that, how does it get better?! Well, somehow Houston powers through to bring us my absolute favorite part of the movie, scene three – with Jiz, Syd and a very lucky kitchen sink. 3. What’s the best thing you’ve learned or best advice you’ve received from the industry?
One thing I’ve learned and always stuck to is never engaging in anything that I couldn’t explain and stand up for to either press or my mother. I strongly believe in the work that I’m engaging in. I put all of my heart and body into this work. And I believe that it is important to develop a language around explaining what we do, how we do it, why we do it and the way that it effects us and our audience.
