Over the last couple of years I have heard lots of good things about Art House Sluts. I’ve seen the word “visceral” used more than a few times. I’m not quite sure why it has taken me so long to watch it, being that Madison Young (writer, director, star) is one of my favorite people in industry. I love her work no matter what role she plays in the process. Regardless, I recently watched it and it definitely lived up to and beyond its praise.
Art House Sluts pays homage to the world of Andy Warhol. Cans of Campbell’s Tomato Soup run rampant throughout this porno. Starting off the flick, Dana DeArmond skips around some sort of magical meadow where she finds dildos and metal pieces all over the ground, which she collects as she goes on her merry way. After finding a motor/ base, all makes sense and she connects all the pieces to make one freaking awesome piston pumping machine – that ends up being a double penetrating monster too! What what in the butt! Of course this means that Dana must remove her raccoon tail butt plug, which is seriously awesome, though I’m not 100% sure what it’s doing in this movie. All I know is that it’s fabulous and that I want one – STAT!
Next up Dylan and Lorelei tease the shit out of one another while they each have the others’ speed controllers. They’re too busy making each other feel good to both get pounded by the machines at the same time, which was a little bit disappointing to me, but it let them focus on the other more, so I’m not complaining too much here. I feel like this was half porno, half instructional gem. All I need now is a fucking machine of my very own.
All in all, this is a two thumbs up adventure in hot hot hardware!
I am a firm believer of teachable moments. It doesn’t take a classroom to educate… even in porn. Instructional pornos are awesome and so many of them incorporate facts and knowledge with super hot sex, but sometimes even the best ones can be a little too “teachy” for someone who is looking for a straight up fuck flick. That said, when I clicked on Open Invitation, I really never expected anything other than sexy folks fucking on film, and boy was I pleasantly surprised when I got schooled.
Starting off as a scripted, plot-heavy porno, this flick follows an in-a-rut couple (James Deen and India Summer) as they accidentally stumble into the sexy underbelly of the swingers/open relationship scene in San Francisco. This, awesomely, is where we get a really wonderful explanation of swinging and open relationships; how they work and why people would want to be a part of them. The conversation becomes a natural flow of the action and helps shape the story without being too heavy. Like I said, a fabulous teachable moment, sans chalkboard and diagrams.
Once the story is nailed as firmly as all of its players (heh), the director switches gears and integrates a real SF swinging party into the mix, with non-porn people and industry pros fucking alongside each other. I found there to be a slight variation to the camerawork/video that made it obvious that something was different between the parts of the movie, but overall the same high quality is consistent.
Although the camera still focuses on the key characters while they screw in the middle of the party, it still felt deliciously voyeuristic to see all the non-porn people fucking on the sidelines. And, of course, the entire scenario was something decidedly San Francisco – the sex positive capital of the west. Seriously, there aren’t many places in the world like the city by the bay.
While I loved the reality pieces in the second half of the movie, my favorite scene was the fifth, where India Summer and Lorelei Lee (Alison and Vivian, respectively) fuck each other silly in Vivian’s photo studio. They are no-holds-barred when they bring out the Hitachi and buzz out mind-blowing orgasms while plowing into each other’s pussies. All with a clean white background and professional photography lighting.
A commitment at a full two and a half hours, this full length Private party is well worth a watch.
