When it comes to reviewing a movie I really love, sometimes it is hard to do anything but point and grin. That is about how I am feeling right now, as I try to put pen to paper (finger to keyboard?) and express just what I feel about this fabulous Dr. Carol Queen/Robert Morgan instructional butt romp.
 As a sex educator myself, I spend a great deal of time figuring out exactly what information is important to fit into a limited time frame, and the best way to keep things fun, frisky and engaging. That said, I really can’t give higher praise to Bend Over Boyfriend for creating a truly sensual and educationally explorative experience for the viewers. Queen and Morgan (directed by the amazing Shar Rednour) bring a warm, informed presence to build an atmosphere of sex-positivity, as well as keep it hot enough to send sparks flying.
Bend Over Boyfriend, which I consider the seminal video of its subject (this is before Tristan Taormino brought her anal lovin’ to the educational screen), eases us viewers into the wonderful world of anal play and pleasure for men – focusing on men with female partners. Touching on all the important info, like lube, communication, toys and pace for the first half of this hour long movie, the flick naturally transitions into sexy activities and demonstration by the middle mark. Like I said, it’s difficult to find a good balance between educating and arousing, but these folks were right on the money.
One of my favorite aspects of this movie is that the educators and demonstrations are quick to show that there are many kinds of ways that pairs can have sex and communicate – from talking about various positions, to explaining more abstract things, like a woman with a strapped-on dildo feeling just as feminine as ever. The attention to detail and normalization of a fairly taboo act went a long way without ever seeming super process-y or preachy. That, to me, is the sign of a awesome educator.
All-in-all, this has been a movie I have loved for a long time and am ecstatically thrilled that we now get to share it with our viewers. So, whether you have an interest in boys, butts or even just bettering your knowledge base, definitely check this movie out!

Well, she has done it again. Along with being a world renowned sex educator, writer, activist, co-founder of The Center for Sex and Culture, and Good Vibrations Staff Sexologist, Dr. Carol Queen can now add awesome instructional porn filmmaker to her accomplished resume (while we do have her in one other movie, this is the first she is heading). The first of many Pleasure Ed Series videos, this how-to for licking pussy makes the taboo subject sexy and totally gives you all you’ll need to know next time you find yourself going south on your lady friend.
I’ve reviewed my fair share of instructional porn in my time as a professional perv and I can honestly say that this flick is one of the best how-to pornos I’ve ever seen! This movie is seriously up there with my other instructional favorites – including Nina Hartley and Tristan Taormino, which is no small feat, at least in my opinion. Queen does a wonderful job of teaching the viewer all this information, yet keeping it totally sexy and interesting. One great example of that is her use of a vulva puppet to explain anatomy instead of a chart. While the chart may be easier for some folks to learn from, I thought it was very welcoming and way less clinical to teach with a stuffed pussy!
Another major difference in this movie was that it included queer folks! That’s right – gal on gal cunnilingus was on display as well! It really made me feel as though the information was being directed at me, and not just me listening in on info for men. The movie also featured women and men of different ages and with varying bodies. And though I’ve seen people of all ages in porn and with every body type imaginable, it still makes me so happy when I find yet another sex-positive movie that exemplifies real bodies and real folks fucking.
And we can’t forget about the very visible safe sex demonstrations – with saran wrap, dental dam demos and black latex gloves – oh my! It was super sexy to see people demonstrating how to correctly use each barrier. I hope we see it more! What can I say, I may be a perv, but I’m a sex educator through and through.
Not only did this instructional movie blow my expectations out of the water, it got me extra excited to see what this new studio comes out with next! And I didn’t even START to talk about Madison Young’s scenes. One word: woah.

Happy New Year! 2010 is finally here and January is already in mid-swing. By now most of us have vowed and failed at our New Year’s resolutions, creating a headache around the whole ordeal. This year I’ve decided to forgo the resolution rush and take my time with deciding what works for me and how to really achieve maximum J.D. awesomeness. So, twelve days into this new year, I’ve finally figured out what 2010 will mean to me and the top five things that I hope to get going in the months to come. There is no one I would trust more with my ass than Tristan Taormino. You don’t get the title of anal sex queen for nothing and Tristan more than lives up to her moniker with this instructional butt sex for boys movie – not to mention her entire line of anal awareness flicks.
My favorite part about Tristan Taormino’s instructional movies is the way she educates without ever making you feel like you are learning something. What I mean is that she never makes it boring or tedious, even when she’s pointing out a prostate on the anatomy chart. Educating like that a pretty difficult feat and she has mastered it with grace and ease. If I end up being half the educator that Tristan Taormino is, I will consider myself to be doing a good job.
And Ms. Taormino keeps it hot hot hot. I think I retained all the new info so well because I was watching Penny Flame fuck Devin’s asshole up and down the screen. With lots and lots of lube, of course. It really is such a shame that Penny Flame left the business, because she is an amazing performer with an energy and enthusiasm that I don’t see very often. She was definitely my favorite part of this video, after Tristan, of course.

It’s a damn shame that Penny Flame is quitting the business, because this girl is awesome. Not only is she a fabulous porn star, she rocks the sex educator stage like the best of them. Her engaging approach to making instructional porn takes the genre to a new height, where it’s not just about giving people info on how-to, the movie actually creates a safe and comfortable environment for folks to test their boundaries. Plus Flame keeps it sexy and fun enough to bring into the bedroom to help with those “interactive demos.”
I really like that Penny repeatedly goes over the places not to hit. She reinforces how important it is to be careful and know your shit before jumping into rough play. Being able to see the back end of what could be perceived as something violent really helps give me perspective into consensual kink play and how hot it can be.
When it comes to my favorite part of the movie, I can’t decide if I like scene 3 or scene 4 best. Both scenes are chock full of discussion about the rough play they showcase, as well as super hot hardcore that totally makes me want to take notes to bring back to my own bedroom. Oh, and be sure to check out scene one, where Penny talks about all the important ins and outs of safe and sex rough housing.

How excited was I when The Porn Librarian sent this movie to me to check out. I mean really, who better to review a movie called Master’s Degree than someone who just completed her own Master’s degree in human sexuality? As a Master of Sex (what I like to call myself these days), I knew that I was totally ready to see what this movie touted as the “first sex education film of all time” offered.
While this is an educational film of sorts, I should begin by saying that it is like no instructional I’ve ever experienced. More sex therapy-ish than instructive, this ‘70s classic had a psychologist going over the subject’s issues while they fucked on the screen. It was pretty interesting to listen to, but a total boner killer when it came to getting hot. Also, it came across as super judgmental, though that may have been more about the fact that it was shot nearly 40 years ago. Seriously, the narrator/psychologist actually says “Lesbianism is one more of the tempting deviations which modern women face.” I can honestly say I never thought I’d hear that in a porno! I’m definitely trying to cut this classic a little slack, but I was pretty disappointed with this movie that I was so excited to watch. I know the fact that there is no sex and little nudity in this movie will turn a few watchers away, so I am going to be totally upfront about it. This flick is all about female ejaculation instruction, but mostly sticks to personal stories and explaining how to locate the g-spot. And while it may not be the movie to watch if you are looking to quickly rub one out, it is definitely worth taking a gander when you want to find new ways enhance your pleasure. At less than half an hour, this educational quickie gets to all of the important points without wasting any time – they even breakdown exactly what female ejaculate is made up of! Who doesn’t love when sex and science come together? The bottom line: When you want to focus on learning about cum without necessarily cumming at the same time, this is the right movie for you.
