For some reason I’m a little obsessed with finding old clips of Harry Reems. I think it’s because this dude doesn’t get as much hype as John Holmes even though is one of the greatest cocksman of the golden age!
When this HotOldMovies clip went live the other day, I immediately hit play and am super glad I did. Reems is fantastic and, while I have no idea who this lady is, I kind of love her too.
She has a beauty that is hard to find in the industry today. I mean, today’s stars are gorgeous, but I really appreciate the supple bodies and natural good looks of ladies like this one.
When the scene opens, the lovely lady is just finishing up in her bath and we get our first look at her naked goods. Reems enters and after a couple of kisses drops to his knees to taste his lady while she balances on the sink. They go at it for a bit, but all good things have to come to an end, including this brief look back into the golden age of pubic hair.
Just shy of eight minutes, the action moves quickly, but it’s a really hot clip and one that might help you to understand my obsession with Reems.

I cannot believe I’ve made it to 27 years old without ever having seen Deep Throat. It’s even more embarrassing that I review porn for a living and STILL haven’t seen this iconic porn classic. I think my mother has even seen it before, which means that I am bordering on pervert failure here. So, I figured I would FINALLY get with the program and check out this legend.
After years of hearing about Deep Throat (as well as reviewing Throat: A Cautionary Tale, which is based off of Deep’s story), I was well acquainted with the basics of the plot. After years of unfulfilling sexual experiences, Linda Lovelace heads to the doctor (Harry Reems) and finds out that her clitoris is actually in the bottom of her throat! Now that she’s experienced all the “bells and bombs” going off (aka. orgasm), Lovelace becomes a true sexual convert … and what seems like the first sexual surrogate. She takes a job with the doctor as a “physical therapist” that gets super physical. Curing male patients’ sexual woes with her own special brand of medicine. Kind of like a naughty nurse, but not.
Ok, so this movie is so not what I was expecting. I’m not sure what I really thought it would be like, but it is way funnier than I had imagined. And way stranger… I had no clue about Dr. Young at all, but he totally makes the movie. He is all over the place, cracking random jokes and keeping the mood light and funny. I also wasn’t expecting Lovelace to start making sexy house calls. There are also all these really silly songs in the movie, in the background of the sex scenes. These crooning songs singing about what’s happening on screen. Really bizzare/awesome.
Overall, Deep Throat was totally unexpected in a completely awesome way. I was waiting for a dated classic that lived up to all the gasping and hype of how obscene it was said to be at the time (1972), but what I got was a hilariously awesome oldie but goodie that I definitely recommend for people to spend some time with.
Think of it like a history lesson – but with way more head!

Before I even start talking about this quickie, can I just say that I totally want the book Harry Reems is looking through in the beginning. I believe it is Tina Russell’s Porno Star from 1973, but sadly it’s over $60 on amazon… I am so adding that to my list of books to look for in thrift shops!
Back to the porno – I chose this one because Reems was one of the biggest stars of the golden age of the industry, but for some reason we never seem to talk about him. I’ve really only seen him in a few different films and I watch a ton of classic porn. I’m not sure what the deal is with that, but I figured I should check him out, even if he is going to insist on that mustache.
In this short scene, Reems gets tag teamed by two girls who dress like mid-western soccer moms in the 70s. Or at least I’m guessing that’s that case. Unlike a lot of these classic clips, this one doesn’t jump around, which is really nice. The bj scene is impressive (it would have to be with a cock that big) and lasts the perfect amount of time. Once the girls strip out of their frocks, they take turns riding cock until Reems drops a load in the brunette’s mouth. Good stuff!
Overall this is a nice slow scene featuring a big star with a couple of women who have real bodies with pubic hair, visible flaws (!) and know how to have a good time. If you like the old stuff, it’s so worth 9 minutes of your time!
Also, I would just like to go on record as stating that Cheese Doodles never have a place in porn. Cheetos, now that’s a whole different story!

Time Out New York recently published a list of the best porn movies shot in the big apple. It’s super awesome and I thought I’d highlight a few of their picks that I really love here!
The Devil in Miss Jones – Every American should see this movie. Hell, JD’s mom has even seen it! I’m guessing you’ve heard of it, but just in case you need more info, you can read our review of it.
Weirdos and Oddballs – This is one I saw back before I was a professional porn reviewer and for some reason never wrote it up on the site. It’s funny, sexy and stars Harry Reems, who I have a 70s crush on.
Joanna’s Angels 2 – Alt. Throttle – I probably don’t need to remind you how I feel about Joanna Angel. This one was the 2007 AVN Award Winner for Best Sex Comedy and stars so many people I love that I can’t even begin to list them all. Definitely check it out if you haven’t before.
La Dolce Vita – Love him or hate him, you can’t deny that Michael Lucas makes some super hot porn! I happen to love him and this flick is one of my favorite gay features ever.

From the opening moments of this film, when we’re introduced to Harry Reems and Shawn Harris, I knew this was going to be one I loved. Harris is absolutely stunning and the opening scene is a softcore outdoor romp that makes you actually want to know what this movie is about! How often does that happen in a porno?
Unfortunately, we quickly find out that it was all a dream and from that point on I was hooked. It turns out that Susan (Harris) is a psych patient and Reems is her doctor. Of course, since this is a porno, his treatments aren’t always conventional…
This is one that you’ll actually want to watch from start to finish, so I don’t want to ruin any of the plot twists. I’m sure you’re interested in the sexy bits, so I’ll just say that Harris is fantastic and there’s a reason why Harry Reems is only second to John Holmes when considering male leads from this time period. The sex scenes are pretty softcore, but work well within the plot and will definitely get your engine running.
If you love B movies and don’t mind a little XXX thrown in the mix, you’re going to love this one. It’s perfect for someone who’s looking to introduce a partner to the amazing world of porn.

Porn is becoming more and more mainstream. Today’s stars have more crossover appeal than ever and I it’s never been less taboo to talk about porno in “mixed company.” Of course, that doesn’t mean that it’s ok to leave a copy of Weird Fuckin’ Sex Volume #6 – Quivering Sphincters out on the coffee table as a conversation starter when Grandma’s coming over for tea, but I think people are opening up about their viewing habits.
