J.D. already told the story the Dildo Dr, but I’ll go ahead and give a quick overview in case you missed.  At the epic weekend that was Dinah, J.D. and I  stepped away from the HotMoviesForHer cabana and went for a little walk to check out the venders and to say hello to the other awesome folks working the event.  It was then that we met the Dildo Dr.  In honor of those with latex allergies he sells glass dildos so peeps can enjoy the joys that sex toys have to offer without getting itchy and whatnot.  We let him know who we were and that we review sex toys so if he ever wanted a little HM4Her love we’d be happy to give it.  In the blink of an eye he told us to step inside and take the dildo of our choice.  What?!?  Being the lovers of dildos that we are, we didn’t ask any questions and proceeded to browse over 2 very full tables of beautiful pyrex cocks.  The term “kid in a candy store” doesn’t even compare to our behavior.

Needless to say, the Dildo Dr. is an awesome guy – he is super laid back and has a very kind heart.  I’ll get on with the review.

I laid my eyes on the giant bumpy cucumber dildo and that was it.  I looked over the other dildos for quite a while, but my eyes kept going back to that beautiful cuke.  I’m not going to lie.  It’s the size that I was attracted to.  It’s super long and fairly girthy.  I love that glass doesn’t give – it’s hard all day and that makes that filled sensation even sweeter.

The Cucumber is 12 inches in total length and 1.75 inches in width.  Yes, it is 12 inches long.  That doesn’t mean you have to fit the whole thing inside of you in order to enjoy it!  The roughly 4 inch long handle tapers and is free of bumps.  There is a slight curve and the tip is round with no taper.  The surface is super bumpy which is ideal for lovers of pronounced texture.  The cucumber certainly isn’t the fattest dildo I’ve ever seen, but it represents in the size department.

With the decent girth and bumpiness, you definitely want to make sure you are warmed up and you have some lube on hand.  I personally don’t love intense thrusting with bumpy textures, but the thickness did me right for the fill.  Gentle short thrusts are where it’s at if you need movement.  You should be careful when using glass toys anyway – vigorous thrusts can do some damage.  That certainly isn’t meant to deter you from using glass.  It is awesome, just handle with care!  What I do love is the basic shape or the cucumber.  It has just enough of a curve to flow with my body, but it isn’t so angled that it is uncomfortable.  Love it!

To sum it up -

–Glass is a body friendly material and gets a long with my delicate sensibilities. 

–Glass is really easy to clean.  Soap and water.  Done.

–It was given to me by a really good dude. 

–It’s big.

–J.D. and I both (unintentionally) picked vegetable themed dildos.

Is it for everyone?  No.  You definitely need to be into sizable toys with lots of texture.  The good news is that the Dildo Dr.  has a ton of glass toys to choose from!

While we may have missed Earth Day (as the 22nd ended up on a Sunday this year), we know that folks are showing more and more interest in keeping their lives green year-round. To celebrate both a belated Earth Day, as well as that dedication, we thought we’d offer up our HotMovies4Her tips, tools and tricks for eco-friendly action and the greenest orgasms around.

1) Rechargeable toys!  In the past few years, sex toy manufacturers have caught on that consumers are ready to toss their batteries in favor of toys that charge up over and over again.  Not only does it end up costing us less money (no batteries needed = no extra cost for those batteries), but it means that the landfills lose out on a whole bunch of old, dead batteries.  With less cost in the long run (the toy may be a little more $), less waste and usually a better quality product, the only downside is that you’ll have yet another electrical cord to have to look after.

2) Eco-Friendly sex toy materials.  While we’ve already gone over awesome toy materials, I want to reiterate how great they are for the environment as well.  Toy that are made of wood, glass, stainless steel and silicone are all super sturdy and will last a long, long, long time with proper care.  Unlike cheap toys that will fall apart easily, these toys result in less trash overall.  Plus they are all totally body safe – which is hugely important!

3) Take advantage of what’s around the house.  While buying new toys is fun, why not use what you already have?  Ice is a perfect sex toy for those folks who like temperature play and neck ties and silk scarves make great blindfolds and restraints.  Heck, even the faucet in the tub can be used to work yourself into a frenzy!  But don’t forget the cheapest and easiest sex toy of all – your hands!

4) Be mindful of where you are and what resources you are using.  Like getting busy in the car?  Make sure it’s turned off, with the air conditioning cut as well.  Really into shower sex? Have yourselves a hot quickie under the water, then move it to the bed to save on water. It’s easy to get caught up in the moment, but all those little wasted resources add up to make a negative impact on our environment.  Have fun, but keep that in mind!

A few weeks back, while we were out in Palm Springs at The Dinah, we stopped by DildoDr.com’s vender booth, just to say hello, check out the wares and do a little networking (as you do with other sex industry folks).  While chatting with the company’s owner, we happened to mention that we do toy reviews on the site, just in case he’d be interested in getting in touch later down the line to talk about having us review stuff.

Without skipping a beat, the Dildo Dr. told us to take a look at all of the toys there and pick one each to take with us for review.  Say what?!?  We were shocked by this guy’s total generosity, but didn’t have to be told twice!  After looking through the tables of beautiful glass toys, I finally settled on what I later found out was called Corn Art, an eight inch, amber colored dildo.  Along with the toys, Dildo Dr. gave us awesome padded bags to protect our precious cargo in transit (and to keep safe once we got home).  Seriously amazing.

So, I think you can see why this Pyrex dildo is called Corn Art.  For those of you who can’t see images, the Corn Art dildo is an eight inch dildo that is basically shaped like a corn on the cob, complete with a knobby handle at the end.  The shaft of the dildo has little bumps along it, which look exactly like the kernels you find on an actual ear of corn.  The whole thing is a beautiful amber color, which isn’t corn-themed, but makes the whole piece look like a piece of art.

Measuring in at 1.75” wide, Corn Art is a pretty sizeable toy that fills the body nicely, especially because of the material it is made of.  Unlike silicone or rubber, glass is a totally rigid material that has no give or spring to it, so even if a toy isn’t super wide, it still offers a filling feeling.  The weightiness of the glass only adds to that feeling.  Another plus of playing with a glass toy is that it only needs a drop of lube to keep it slippery for a long time.

While I loved a lot about this dildo, there were a few aspects that I wasn’t as excited about.  The pointy shape of the toy, paired with the hard material didn’t work so well for me.  There was something about the way the tip of the toy moved into the full width that felt uncomfortable in my body.  I would have preferred a more gradual increase in size.  As well, the kernels along the shaft didn’t add to my pleasure.  That particular texture wasn’t working with my body structure, but that doesn’t mean it won’t work wonders for other people.  Length and handle-wise, I have no complaints.  They both were fabulous.

Though we’ve touched on it in pretty much every glass toy review, I just wanted to reiterate that the types of glass toys we are talking about are made of specific types of shatter-proof glass, such as Pyrex.  I just want to make sure that no one thinks we are telling them that they should shove IKEA wine glasses up their holes.  I mean really, those things break if you look at them funny.

All in all, this is one great toy to get corny with!

Sinful Pleasure is only 1½ inches at its widest point, which, for me, it a little on the thin side.  I prefer to be filled just a little bit more, so I was hoping for just  a midge more girth, but I still enjoyed the fullness  of the hard glass (no give!)  and the choice of which side to use.  I also really liked the burst of added girth in the middle.  It definitely gave me an extra jolt of thrill.

As with all glass toys, Sinful Pleasure was a total delight to clean.  Since it is non-porous, I just stuck it in a pot of boiling water for a few minutes and voila – clean and sterilized!  And speaking of hot water, you can totally get your temperature play on with this glass goddess.  Just stick it in a bowl of warm water to heat it up, or cool it down in an ice water bath for a chilly time.  Sigh, glass is such an awesome material!

Just in case any of you are living in a cave, the holiday season is officially here. Happy nearly Thanksgiving!!!  It’s that time of year when we, your friendly neighborhood smut peddlers, sit down and think about all the  amazing things in our lives that we have to be thankful for – other than the fact that we have the most awesome jobs on earth, of course.  This time around we decided to do it up right and give a Turkey Day a little Top Five Tuesday lovin’.  So in no particular order, here are a few of the many things we are so grateful to have in our lives.

Screw Smart: I don’t talk about it too much, since it doesn’t have to do with HM4Her really, but I am 1/3 of the fabulous sex positive, pleasure-based, adult sex education collaborative that is Screw Smart.  The other two ladies that teach sexy sex ed with me are absolutely a-freaking-mazing and I thank my lucky stars daily that I get to be in their presence, let alone doing my dream work along side them.

Courtney Trouble’s Movies: While in past years I’ve expressed by love of queer porn, this time around I figured I would go straight to the source of so much of the queer sex on camera I like so very much – and that delicious center is Courtney Trouble.  This super sexy director could seriously pull a mind-blowingly hot performance out of a rock on the ground.  Girl is that good!  Trouble has a knack for matching up performers and the footage that comes out of her camera is pure magic.  I am thankful for all of her fabulous movies – some of which include Nofauxx Roulette, Seven Minutes In Heaven: Coming Out, and Speakeasy.

Meeting April Flores!: April Flores is freaking awesome. It’s just true. I’ve had a total porno crush on this zaftig beauty since I first saw her in porn, so many moons ago. So of course I jumped at the opportunity to not only meet her, but to interview her too! It was seriously fabulous and she is a total gem! I am so thankful that I got to help her celebrate her Feminist Porn Award wins and generally meet this amazing lady.  I can’t even express my excitement in this picture.

I had to hijack JD’s blog and add my two cents:

Not Working: I love my job, but this year my boss was kind enough to give me five weeks off to move and travel. My girlfriend and I hiked almost 150 miles of this gorgeous country, ate well and read until it was dark. I came back to Hotmoviesforher.com completely re-energized and have been riding high ever since. Now when I start freaking out about all of the work I have to do, I remember that lady who was dirty and hiding in the woods from Bison and realize she’ll get it all done. I’m really glad I got the chance to step back from life for a short while and live!

Bend Over Boyfriend: One of my favorite things about this job is getting to offer movies like Fatale Media’s Bend Over Boyfriend to a whole new audience. We worked hard to sign a ton of great new studios this year, but it’s offering these little obscure classics that really make me proud. I hope a whole new generation of pro-sex peeps appreciate just how groundbreaking this movie was when it was released. Another studio that has to be mentioned here is S.I.R. Productions – It was a long time coming, but they’re finally available on VOD!
