The 2008 eLINE Awards were announced last week in Berlin and I wanted to give a shout out a few winners.

Every once and a while someone tries to pull the whole “women don’t watch porn” shtick with me. After shaking my head in amazement at their naiveté, I politely tell them that a) they are wrong and b) plenty of women not only watch porno, there are more and more women creating and directing adult movies every day. Since the real start of women behind the porno camera with Candida Royalle in the ‘80s, women have been taking the reins in creating hot material that is specifically made and marketed for women. We’ve come to the final scene in Erica Lust’s journey into Spanish self-love, the Barcelona Sex Project. Scene six brings us Joel Acosta, a 28-year-old Pisces who now works as a stripper and he also has spent the past ten years in the advertising industry. Joel tells us about his life, how he got into dancing, and what it takes to stay in top shape for his career – and let me tell you, it doesn’t sound easy. He tells us that stripping doesn’t start and end with his 15 minute performance but instead it becomes a lifestyle with a strict diet and trips to the beauty salon. Lust sets his set in a similar simple fashion as the previous five scenes. There is a bench, some towels and a full length mirror that could make things even more interesting. Bienvenidos a Barcelona! Or, welcome to Barcelona, if you didn’t take the six years of Spanish classes I did. Scene four introduces us to Joni La Paz, a 21-year-old electrician who works at the Barcelona airport. As with the other three scenes prior to this one, Erica Lust gives us a ten-minute interview with Joni where we learn his passions in and outside of the bedroom. For me, the way he described his favorite sexual position (“me on the bed on my knees, her legs wrapped around me, my hands on her breasts and her hands on my arms with her bum in the air”) was hard to visualize at first – and then harder to get out of my mind.
Prior to this seeing this movie, I must admit that I hadn’t watched very many solo scenes. Personally, I do like watching my partner masturbate and find it very erotic, but never thought it could translate on screen. Boy, was I wrong. Erica Lust dresses the set in a very minimalist fashion – just Joni, a red chair (that looks like something out of a Georgia O’Keefe painting), and his cock in hand (and what a cock it is!). It’s time to continue our in depth look at Erika Lust’s latest film, Barcelona Sex Project. Scene three brings us Irina Vega, a really cute computer programmer who was kind enough to introduce me to a new luxury vibe, the Late Late from Late Chocolate.
Like the first two scenes, Lust starts with a 10 minute interview in which we learn a little more about Vega. I love that she covers all the sex stuff, but also asks about everyday things like reading habits and music. I know I’ve said it before, but getting to know the star really draws me into the scene and makes it that much hotter to watch.
Now, on to the good stuff! Vega and her trusty vibe are sprawled out on a big bed in the middle of the magical white room we’ve mentioned in previous reviews. The only object that will draw your eye from her is the pair of handcuffs hanging off of the headboard – and for me, that was a fine distraction. She takes her time, exploring her body with the vibe before flipping on her belly for some external stim. By the time she pushes the toy inside, you can tell just how turned on she is. You don’t get to see the aftermath of intense orgasm very often in porno, but this one ends with her wondering what to do with her hands and curling up – a familiar ending that sold this scene for me.
Another fine scene in what is proving to be an excellent movie!
