After a weekend away in Toronto and two days out of the office, I’ve been a busy, busy pervy pants, trying to fit in all my porn watchin’ and recap writin’ into what seems like the fastest 8 hour days I’ve ever experienced. While fast days are usually a good thing, these ones are flying by to the point that I look at the clock once, then the next time I glance that way, it’s 4 hours later! - What does a sex worker look like? Audacia Ray and a bunch of people at the “Speak Up! Media Skills for the Empowered Sex Worker” seminar (including Dylan Ryan!) created this awesome PSA to show everyone how sex workers are just like you and I.
- Bondage wear and kinky toys are being manufactured in Karachi, Pakistan… in a small facility next to a mosque and the offices of a radical Islamic organization. While that may seem totally suprising to us, it is, in reality, a very lucrative and thriving business choice in the region. As I blogged about a bunch last week, the Good For Her 4th Annual Feminist Porn Awards were over the weekend and I was lucky enough to fly up to Toronto to be there. Because we helped sponsor the event (yay!), I had been emailing back and forth with Good For Her manager Alison Lee for the few months leading up to the weekend and was already super excited to meet her. I also followed a few of our favorite SF queers on twitter saying that they were going to be there as well, so before I even set foot across the border, I knew I was in for a pretty awesome weekend.
After taking an early flight into Toronto on Friday morning, I met up with Alison Lee (from Good for Her) and NoFauxxx.com‘s Courtney Trouble for lunch and had such fun chatting all about queer porn and the upcoming awards later that evening. Total shoutouts to these fabulous ladies who rock the porn/sex/sexuality world with amazing style. Afterwards Trouble and I hit a vintage/screen printing shop nearby before I headed back to my room and took a much needed nap. Who wants to be exhausted at a late night event with a bunch of awesome porn folks? Not me!
I was invited to the pre-awards VIP party at the Berkley Church (where the awards were held – yep, in a church!) so I glammed up and headed over to the venue a little early to get a chance to meet everyone before the actual ceremony started. That turned out to be a great idea, because there weren’t a ton of people at the VIP party, so it was easy to make my way over to people and introduce myself. As it turns out, most of the San Francisco queer porn circle was nominated for Feminist Porn Awards, so a bunch of them headed north to attend. I hung out with the amazingly awesome Jiz Lee, Syd Blakovich, Madison Young and Dylan Ryan, along with Courtney Trouble and I snagged a seat next to Trannywood’s Ian Sparks.

The 2009 Feminist Porn Awards, my favorite porn awards show of the year, is coming up later this week and not only am I super excited to see who takes home awards, I am extra thrilled because I get to be there! That’s right, HM4Her is sponsoring this grass-roots celebration of revolutionary sex positivity and hot, hot movies and I get to be a part of the action! I even get to present an award, which I am all squeallly (and crazy nervous) about. So, in honor of The Feminist Porn Awards taking place this week, I am dedicating the Top Five Tuesday to talking about my top five 2009 nominees. Picking only five titles out of the ridiculously awesome pool of nominees was really difficult and more than once I found myself thinking about renaming this week as “Top Ten Tuesday,” but eventually I settled on five that really grabbed my attention and had me fanning myself as I watched. First things first, I’m pretty sure this is my favorite porno cover of all time! It manages to combine my two favorite things in the world – girls making out and books. I thought that Perversions Of Lesbian Lust 1 was the perfect way to kick off our Dinah week lesbian review extravaganza. It’s a little kinkier than a lot of the super Sapphic flicks we feature and definitely hot.
Those of you who are not into kink, shouldn’t immediately dismiss this movie because the first scene between director Madison Young and Lorelei Lee is awesome and pretty, for lack of a better term, vanilla. They start by making out passionately before Lee rips off Young’s panties and buries her face in between her legs. After a quick taste, she finger bangs her while Young works her clit. From that point on, things get frantic as they girls fuck and suck for fifteen of the hottest minutes I’ve seen in a while.
This scene sets up the rest of the movie by showing us Young with an ex who just couldn’t give her what she needs in the bedroom. Even though they had great sex (and trust me, they do) Young isn’t getting what she wants. I loved watching Young struggle to show Lee how to dominate her (choking, slapping, whatevs) and not really getting it. Plus, the scene is still hot as hell and it actually moves the plot along. I know the idea of an actual plot in porn is hard to grasp, but there’s one here and they’re sticking to it!
Next up we see Madison in a solo scene where she acts out her online lover’s every desire. I’m not sure if it was because I already knew Pink & White Production’s mission of “producing sexy and exciting images that reflect today’s blurred gender lines and fluid sexualities,” or that Dylan and Trucker are just amazing hot on their own, but watching this movie, the first episode of P& W’s Crash Pad Series made me feel like I was watching more than just porn. More than just sex. I was watching the way I fuck. The intensity of real orgasms, strap-on cocks, and frantically passionate kisses. It’s subversive and raw in a way that screams ‘this is how queers fuck’ and knocks down any preconceived notions of soccer-mom lesbians making love quietly under the blankets.
Dylan and Trucker are given a key to the coveted crash pad, the ultimate sex shack. Trucker is tough in a black button over a black tank and Dylan is super sexy in her short skirt and silky tank top with her nipples slipping out. Apparently, it’s so hard to meet women in the city by the bay that director Madison Young decided to do her part to bring them together with a helpful guide to the best places to meet perfect women. Is it just me or does it seem totally unfair that my New England town doesn’t have a guide to the city like the one?
We’ve decided to review this amazing flick from Abigail Productions scene by scene because J.D. and I have been lusting after Jiz Lee, Syd Blakovich and Dylan Ryan for quite some time now and it didn’t seem fair to that only one of us would get paid to watch them fuck on camera.
So, scene one. Let me just start by saying, it’s freaking awesome! Jiz Lee, who is basically perfect in my book, meets up with Lorelei Lee in Dolores Park to eat strawberries and get it on. They have great chemistry and the scene is set up nicely as they flirt and giggle and I am reminded of why I love women so damn much.
This is a pretty vanilla scene, the two take turns working each other over with their fingers and tongues, and it’s really hot. It’s always a big turn on for me to see two women truly getting off on camera, and it’s very apparent neither girl is faking their enjoyment in this scene.
Another great thing about this scene, besides the dirty stuff, is the music. I’m not sure who the musicians are, but it’s pretty rare to find porn music that enhances a scene and Young has managed to do just that with her selections. I felt like I was watching one of those music videos they used to air on the tv years ago as Jiz finger bangs Lorelei to a rockin’ guitar rift.
Overall, this is a really great beginning to one of the hottest movies I’ve seen. If you’re looking for gorgeous dykes getting down and dirty, you definitely need to see this one.
