The fabulous folks over at Good For Her have released the annual nomination list for the Feminist Porn Awards – and holy cow are there some hot tamales on the list!!! For today’s Top Five Tuesday, I took on the near-impossible job of narrowing that delicious list down to five seriously awesome picks that top my own personal spank bank. Alpha Femmes: Oh Anna Devia, with this one movie, you have wooed me so fucking hard. It takes a lot to impress a jaded porn reviewer like myself, and you have done one hell of a job raising my temperature! I think one of my favorite things about this awesomely kinky queer fuckfest is the pairing. Each and every scene has such rockin’ chemistry and features the perfect duo. From Akira and Puck in scene one to April and Jiz in the last scene, this movie flows awesome and features folks that definitely want to be fucking each other!
Open Invitation: A Real Swinger’s Party In San Francisco: Starting off as a scripted, plot-heavy porno, this flick follows an in-a-rut couple (James Deen and India Summer) as they accidentally stumble into the sexy underbelly of the swingers/open relationship scene in San Francisco. Once the story is nailed as firmly as all of its players (heh), the director switches gears and integrates a real SF swinging party into the mix, with non-porn people and industry pros fucking alongside each other. I love the story/real dynamic and can’t wait to see what else comes from director Ilana Rothman!
Pregnant With Desire: I’ve never really thought of pregnant women in a sexual way before. Not that they aren’t beautiful and sexual – I’ve just never thought about it. But, now that this flick has come my way, I feel like my eyes have been open to the appeal of hot mamas-to-be. Not only that – but queers and preggo chicks! And interviews! Kinkster (and brand new mama) Madison Young is seriously amazing and everything she touches is gold. I’m really hoping for a part 2!
Heads Up – The Official Guide To Fellatio: You know how I feel about sex education, so how could I not include a bad-ass intructional? My first stop would be Paris and then Berlin where I am working on a sort-of top secret new project that is guaranteed to be super sexy and groundbreaking. After Europe, maybe Aruba? Or, I have always wanted to visit Cuba while I still live in Canada and can fly direct. If you don’t know who this amazing woman is (or haven’t seen part one of this interview), Dr. Queen is one part pornographer, one part sex educator, one part kinky author, one part Good Vibes sexologist, one part co-founder of the Center for Sex & Culture – and about a million parts fantastic. She really is an influential piece of the sex positivity pie! Hell, I probably wouldn’t be the sex educator I am today without having amazing folks like Dr. Queen to look up to!

If you took one look at this blog in the last week or so, you probably saw how excited the Porn Librarian and I were to get to the annual New York Sex Bloggers Calendar Release Party on Friday. Not only were we really amped to the 2011 calendar in all its glory, we knew it would be a night filled with all the delightful debauchery that comes with a room packed to the walls with sex bloggers, porn stars and more sex-positivity than you can shake a dildo at! And boy, oh boy, we were not disappointed!
A little background before we get to the night:
The New York Sex Bloggers Calendar is a yearly (on their third year!) calendar that features folks that play an important part in the online sexuality world. Once only open to New York sex bloggers, this year’s models were picked from an open call to sexy internet people all over the place. As well as showing off some of the hottest bloggers our niche has to offer, the NYSBC is also a fundraiser for sexuality-based organizations, which makes it even better! This year the calendar benefited the WoodHull Freedom Foundation, an organization that fights to affirm sexual freedom as a fundamental right. Such important work! That all said, we are totally excited that we were able to be a part of a project that is so integral to helping foster sexual freedom, and we couldn’t be happier to sponsor this fabulous calendar.
So, onward to our adventures in NYC! The Porn Librarian and I both came into New York from our respective states on Friday morning and took our time meeting up and getting to the hotel, since we knew we wouldn’t be able to check in til later in the day. The PL was off doing her own thing, and I met up with the fabulous Shanna Katz, who some of you followers may know as Essin’ Em, a one time HM4Her bloggers and reviewer! It’s that time of year again! The New York Sex Bloggers Calendar Party is coming up this Friday and we seriously could not be more excited. I love that Dr. Queen takes a minute to discuss how male anatomy is homologous, or structurally corresponding, to female anatomy. I think it’s so important to point out that male and female genital structures start out the same when we are in the womb; and as they form and change, the tissue moves to different places, but it is the same tissue. Knowing that is helpful in figuring out the most sensitive parts of folks’ bits. I also love that Queen is quick to talk about phalluses and not just penises – the phallus being the clit, transman cock, etc. Basically – I just love Carol Queen.
While this movie may not be as porn-sexy as other instructionals I’ve seen, I definitely enjoyed the added conversations and totally recommend this flick to folks who want to bone up on their blowjobs!
This weekend marks the end of Masturbation Month, which would be a total bummer if it wasn’t for the Center for Sex and Culture’s 12th Annual Masurbate-a-thon! Folks from all over will flock to San Francisco on May 30th to celebrate self loving in an open and free environment, as well as to compete in record breaking titles for “Longest Time Spent Masturbating” and “Most Orgasms.”

When it comes to reviewing a movie I really love, sometimes it is hard to do anything but point and grin. That is about how I am feeling right now, as I try to put pen to paper (finger to keyboard?) and express just what I feel about this fabulous Dr. Carol Queen/Robert Morgan instructional butt romp.
As a sex educator myself, I spend a great deal of time figuring out exactly what information is important to fit into a limited time frame, and the best way to keep things fun, frisky and engaging. That said, I really can’t give higher praise to Bend Over Boyfriend for creating a truly sensual and educationally explorative experience for the viewers. Queen and Morgan (directed by the amazing Shar Rednour) bring a warm, informed presence to build an atmosphere of sex-positivity, as well as keep it hot enough to send sparks flying.
Bend Over Boyfriend, which I consider the seminal video of its subject (this is before Tristan Taormino brought her anal lovin’ to the educational screen), eases us viewers into the wonderful world of anal play and pleasure for men – focusing on men with female partners. Touching on all the important info, like lube, communication, toys and pace for the first half of this hour long movie, the flick naturally transitions into sexy activities and demonstration by the middle mark. Like I said, it’s difficult to find a good balance between educating and arousing, but these folks were right on the money.
One of my favorite aspects of this movie is that the educators and demonstrations are quick to show that there are many kinds of ways that pairs can have sex and communicate – from talking about various positions, to explaining more abstract things, like a woman with a strapped-on dildo feeling just as feminine as ever. The attention to detail and normalization of a fairly taboo act went a long way without ever seeming super process-y or preachy. That, to me, is the sign of a awesome educator.
All-in-all, this has been a movie I have loved for a long time and am ecstatically thrilled that we now get to share it with our viewers. So, whether you have an interest in boys, butts or even just bettering your knowledge base, definitely check this movie out!
