I was in Vancouver earlier this week and discovered an amazing thing when I woke up at 5 am the first day – they still play music videos! After an hour or two of weather delays and a quick flight, we arrived in Toronto and headed to the fabulous Gladstone Hotel, the original home of the FPAs (Feminist Porn Awards), as well as an amazingly cute hotel with artist-designed rooms. We checked in, dropped our stuff in the room and decided to get lunch in the hotel cafe. Can I just say how excited I am that we have a new addition for Good Dyke Porn! Total shoutouts to these fabulous ladies who rock the porn/sex/sexuality world with amazing style. Afterwards Trouble and I hit a vintage/screen printing shop nearby before I headed back to my room and took a much needed nap. Who wants to be exhausted at a late night event with a bunch of awesome porn folks? Not me!
I was invited to the pre-awards VIP party at the Berkley Church (where the awards were held – yep, in a church!) so I glammed up and headed over to the venue a little early to get a chance to meet everyone before the actual ceremony started. That turned out to be a great idea, because there weren’t a ton of people at the VIP party, so it was easy to make my way over to people and introduce myself. Just a reminder that the always amazing Feminist Porn Awards are tonight!
