Studio: Adam & Eve Category: By Women

Welcome to our first Retro Review! Over the years, we’ve reviewed almost 1000 hot movies and decided it was time to take a look back at some of our favorites. We’re going to be highlighting one review every Saturday in an effort to make sure no one forgets these great films.

Afrodite Superstar is one of the quintessential XXX movies for women, in my opinion, and is also a Feminist Porn Award and AVN Award Winner. Check out what what our friend Essin’ Em had to say about it back before she left HotMoviesforHer and the East Coast behind!

I heard Simone Valentino speak at a $pread Magazine (a magazine by, for and about sex workers ) event in NYC earlier this year, and was entranced by the way she talked about how she prepared herself for a shoot, and was intrigued at how personal and sensual her preparation was. Her description of her tasting herself before she had to douche for a scene was vivid, and her presence was something to behold. Since then, I’ve been desperately wanting to watch one this film, and I’m so glad I have finally been able to do so.

This movie is excellent, no holds barred. “AfroDite Superstar” is a female directed movie, and you can tell. Everything I like in a good porn; *real* pussy eating, safer sex (condoms!), a decent plot line, masturbation (with good vibrators, not giant dildos), real bodies (real boobs, and some pubic hair as well), current events (wardrobe malfunction!), fun outfits, etc…well, it’s all in this film. It starts out like a “normal” movie – sex doesn’t start till a good 25 or 30 minutes in, but the acting is good, and the plot moves along nicely, so it’s worth watching.

The first sex scene is AfroDite (Simone) getting herself off while watching herself on the TV screen, and it’s HOT. I think everyone should have a basket of marvelous vibrators on their bed. The scene between Isis and Kali in an artist studio is amazingly sexy – Kali has beautiful ink on her body, and when these two women are together, it’s like a masterpiece of art – just simply beautiful. Later on, the choreographer and “urban coach” get it on in (and around, and on) a brand new, bright red hummer, and DAMN. I’m not going to lie, I was really turned on. Sex while hanging out a sunroof? Let’s just say it’s on my new list. The end scene between Simone and Mr. Marcus is beautiful in that she finally realizes that it’s sexy to be herself (and the steamy sex doesn’t hurt either).

This movie is without a doubt one of my favorite adult full-length features I have ever seen, and trust me, I’ve seen a lot. And for the feminist in us all – they have sporadic and empowering quotes from feminists through the ages, including Gloria Steinem and bell hooks. The director, Venus Hottentot, is a woman on a wonderful mission; she wants to portray real women of all types, colors, sexualities, you name it, in a film in which they can have fun, get off, and be real. In my opinion, she succeeds with this movie. Excellent film, a must see for everyone!

After a weekend away in Toronto and two days out of the office, I’ve been a busy, busy pervy pants, trying to fit in all my porn watchin’ and recap writin’ into what seems like the fastest 8 hour days I’ve ever experienced.  While fast days are usually a good thing, these ones are flying by to the point that I look at the clock once, then the next time I glance that way, it’s 4 hours later!  That said, I wanted to make sure all you slowwwww day people were getting love too.  And is there a more perfect day to celebrate that love than Humpday!?  I think not!  So, for all you trucking through a slow ass Wednesday, this link love is for you.

- Bondage wear and kinky toys are being manufactured in Karachi, Pakistan… in a small facility next to a mosque and the offices of a radical Islamic organization.  While that may seem totally suprising to us, it is, in reality, a very lucrative and thriving business choice in the region.  As well, many women that are piecing together the corsets and backless spanking skirts have no idea what they are making.  For me this raises questions of informed consent, even though it’s just manufacturing… but I thought it was definitely something to post.  (via Jezebel)

I just finished reviewing The Surrender Of O for next week and it’s got me thinking how much I like Adam & Eve movies. The consistently put out really great pornos, and coming from a big lesbo, I think that’s a pretty good compliment. Besides creating some pretty hot wanking material, it’s also worth noting that they also donate 25% of earned profits to international charitable organizations. I’m guessing that translates to some pretty big bucks!

Anyways, this is a list of my five favorite Adam & Eve movies, in no particular order.

Personal Touch Volume 3 – Exploring The “O”: We love, love, love the complete series, but I’m all about people owning their orgasms, so I picked this one to highlight. I hope anyone thinking about making an instructional video takes a cue from this Jamye Waxman’s series. She is super awesome, especially if you like smart, sexy women who giggle!

Not Another Porn Movie: We talk about this Joanna Angel movie a lot, but it’s freaking awesome so I think it’s ok! This one basically mocks every silly thing you’ve ever seen in a porno including bad plots, bad production and bad music. More importantly, it features a bunch of really hot people having even hotter sex!

Afrodite Superstar:This is one of those movies that everyone raves about and with good reason. Any conversation about sex positive porn eventually leads to this Candida Royalle/Venus Hottentot production packed full of real people having real sex!

The Bi Apple:This bi movie, directed by the brilliant Audacia Ray, is another that is loved by sex positive ladies everywhere. I chose this one because it has a really hot pegging scene and I totally want to make out with Simone Valentino. Oh, and it’s great from the opening scene to the closing credits…

Nina Hartley’s Guide To Multiple Orgasms: I couldn’t talk about Adam & Eve without highlighting one of Hartley’s guides. She’s tackled everything from anal to kink to pregnant sex in this amazing series that every woman should know about.

Just for the record, I really wanted to include Eden on my list because it has a dinosaur in it! Unfortunately, there were just way too many awesome movies that I love more… Dinosaurs Rule!

Zack and Miri Make a Porno has been all over the news lately, apparently because the word “porno” in a title is way more than most people can handle. I’ll be heading to the theater to see it for the obvious reasons, but also because I am a little in love with Elizabeth Banks.

This morning I read a great review by Audacia Ray, director of The Bi Apple and sexpert extraordinaire. Everything Ray writes is insightful, but I really love this comparative review between the movie and her experiences in the industry. It’s funny and pretty great that Premier readers will have a better idea about the industry because of it.

Today’s Top Five Tuesday pays homage to my favorite bisexual movies and will hopefully bring to light some great flicks that fall into a genre that doesn’t get enough love from the industry. Good bi porn captures raw sexuality without restrictions and hopefully you’ll see it like I do in these movies!

In my experience, bisexual movies are really amazing or total crap. Apparently there is no middle ground when it comes to this particular genre. There’s nothing worse than watching bi porn where half of the participants are obviously not thrilled to be there. Since in the amazing world of porn all women are pretty much bisexual, it’s really important to find male performers who have a genuine interest in men and women. Not just some dude who’s desperate enough to close his eyes while another guy sucks him off.

The directors and performers in these movies set out to capture a broader picture of human sexuality, resulting in great porn for those of us who like to play outside the box.

Goosed For 3! – A Bisexual Love Affair: This one is a hilarious outtake on some of your favorite nursery rhymes starring Nina Hartley as Mother Goose. A hot sapphic scene between Georgie Porgie and her lesbian lover, Margery Daw is the highlight for me, but there’s plenty of fantastic sex in between laughs in this GAYVN award winning film. Back December, Craigslist posted an ad in NYC looking for someone to buy a lightly used sex machine from a sex toy reviewer who had no room for it.

So I’m a sex toy reviewer, and a little over a year ago I acquired a fucking machine to review (Topco brand, it retails at $395). It’s kinda big, and I really want it out of my apartment. It has all but one attachment (the one I used, which I will throw away), and technically it is lightly used.

Yes, it’s true, I’m trying to sell my lightly used sex machine on CL. I’m asking $100 for it, you come pick it and get it out of my life. It’s manageable to get it on the subway (probably easier with two people), but I recommend wrapping the box in brown paper or something, since it has pictures and words that will make your package very obvious.

Turns out the mystery reviewer looking to ditch the dong machine was none other than HotMoviesForHer’s contributing writer and all around sexpert Audacia Ray.  Sure we found this out only days after the inital post, so why are we talking about it nine months later, you ask?

Well, a good project, just like a baby, takes a while to come together and make something with legs.  Or a running motor and attachments that thrust, in this case.  Anyway, it turns out the ad was way more than an ad… more like fodder for Audacia’s latest film project.  I present to you:

In the five minute clip (embedded below) it’s easy to see why you’d want to shell out the $2.99 to check out the whole 25 min short.  It’s awesome!  Unfortunately for us, Audacia is having issues with her online checkout provider as we speak and has no way to accept payment right now.
