So it’s time for the very last 2010 nominee before the big awards ceremony tomorrow. When I saw the title for this one I just thought it was fitting plus, “Heaven,” has almost as many nominations as “Cry Wolf” did and that was totally one of the most awesome adult movies of the year.
Ok, so the beginning isn’t as nice as “Cry Wolf” with its nearly instant fade to strip club followed by mutual masturbation in a large SUV. But its par for the course for “Heaven” since it’s set around a strip club with dancers making up several of the key performers. This allows the performers to play to their usual strengths and minimum work to be done establishing a plot, throw in a hard up old club owner who’s girlfriend doesn’t want to fuck him add an bouncer with ambitions and a gambling problem, insta-plot in porn terms anyway.
This Hustler flick, directed by the fantastic Anastasia and Liam Pierce, is pretty different from your typical hardcore fetish film. That’s not a bad thing, but you’ll see a wide variety of kinks represented here where a lot of fetish movies only cover one specific niche. Because of that, I think this is a good one for those of you who are curious about the kinkier aspects of life, but who are not quite sure where to start!
I’m going to be honest and say that I skipped the first scene to get right to Anastasia Pierce and Satine Phoenix. Mostly because I love those ladies, but also because the first scene just didn’t look that great to me. I love a good fucking machine, but drill-dos are a bit boring in my professional opinion.
So, on to scene number two! Both women look exquisite, which is no surprise, but worth noting. The scene opens with Phoenix on her back being drilled by a real fucking machine. There was something about this movie that struck me as interesting before I even read the description. Throat: A Cautionary Tale. It’s not very often that you find a porno cautionary tale (usually more like a cautionary tale about porn), so I just knew I had to check it out. And I’m so glad I did, because playing right into my love of anything full of suspense, this Law and Order-esque fuck flick offered up a huge load of mystery, murder and mega hot sex. I mean really, does a movie get 12 AVN noms without being downright awesome? I think not.
You know you’ve got a good thriller when the movie opens at the crime scene. A dead body lies bloody in an alley, and the police have been called in to find out what happened. For us, the body belongs to Julie (Sasha Grey), who we soon find out was a peep show girl with an angry boyfriend and a special talent for deep throat. And why is that? As a nod to the classic porn Deep Throat, our protagonist too has her clit located deep in the back of her throat. I’m not one to bet, but I’ve my thoughts on what movies I think will be bringing home AVN Awards this weekend. I figure this is a great chance to highlight some of my favorite movies of the last year and to test my ability to predict the future.
Tristan Taormino’s Rough Sex: This one is nominated for 2010 AVN Award Nominee for Best Specialty Release – Other Genre, and while the category is a crap shoot, this movie really stands out. Besides being amazing, it’s just different enough to garner the attention of those voting. While the award name isn’t much of a marketing tool, I think we can predict great things for Ms. Taormino’s smart movie starring Sasha Grey.
Fuck The World: Fuck the World earned nine nominations this year and I will be shocked if they don’t win something. I love how Club Jenna branched how this year with some new film lines and really hope they’re rewarded for taking some risks. Plus Jezebelle Bond and Marie Luv are smoking hot.
Deep Inside Annie Sprinkle: I’m a huge fan of Annie Sprinkle, so I’ve got my fingers crossed that this vintage porno is recognized as the Best Classic Release of the year. This film from 1981 stars Ron Jeremy in one of his first films and shows why Sprinkle is one of the true gems of the golden age of adult film.
PopPorn: The Guide To Making Fuck: The guys from PopPorn.com are really fucking funny. If they don’t bring at least one trophy back to the city of brotherly love, I’m going to be a very disappointed girl.
