2009 AVN Nominee
Before I knew a damn thing about porno, my friends and I were calling our high school librarian “Johnny Wadd.” This may seem like a really random thing to share, but I think it’s a good example of mainstream John Holmes and his alter ego Wadd truly are.
So Johnny Wadd is the type of dude teenage boys who don’t want to be hairdressers aspire to be. He’s a badass detective who lives and fucks hard. Unfortunately, in this film, Holmes isn’t quite the bad ass he was in his earlier films. Turns out years of hard living and a murder trial can wear even the most notorious cock slinger down.
Even though this flick doesn’t stand up to his earlier work, it’s still a fun porno with some really hot scenes and well worthy of its 2009 AVN Award nomination for Best Classic Release. The plot is pretty simple, Wadd’s partner is murdered and he is trying to figure out who did it. Apparently banging a ton of chicks is an integral part of the investigation…
Besides Holmes, there are plenty of big name stars from the golden age of adult including Bunny Blue, Sheri St. Clair and Melissa Melendez. Asian beauty Mai Lin takes on Holmes in the fourth scene, my favorite. They swap oral favors before Lin is impaled by his legendary cock. It’s a pretty long scene with lots of positions, so you really get to see Holmes in action. A lot of classic scenes are too short for my liking, so I really appreciate this one. Plus Lin, who I’ve never taken notice of before, is really hot.
While this isn’t the best Johnny Wadd film, it’s one that classic film fans shouldn’t pass by.

The AVN Awards are almost here! For those of you not in the know, the AVN Awards are basically the Oscars of porn and a ton of movies are up for nomination in every category – from Best Actress to Best Foot/Leg Fetish Release toBest Big Bust Series. Since we here at HM4Her are so excited about the upcoming awards show in Las Vegas (Jan. 10), we will be reviewing 2009 AVN Award Nominated movies until the big day! Let’s get to it!
Starting AVN season reviews with a movie nominated for SIX awards (Best Director – Feature, Best Art Direction, Best Editing, Best Special Effects, Best Music Soundtrack and Best Video Feature), I bring you The Bad Luck Betties.
 My favorite thing about porn, other than the naked chicks, or course, is that no matter what, there is something for everyone. And while I would usually say that when talking about some super niche fetish movie, here I’m bringing it out for something I haven’t seen too much of in my porn reviewing repertoire – Rockabilly porn. And I love it. This super stylized, 50’s inspired porno is chocked full of raven haired beauties sporting ruby red lips, perfect coifs and a whole lot of bad attitude. The Bad Luck Betties are a band of ex-models gone rebel who take what they want, when they want it. Luckily for us, they use their sultry bodies to get their thrills. With Trashy Sally (Smokin’ Mary Jane) at the helm, along with Napalm Suzy (Mika Tan), Backseat Angel (Bianca Dagger) and Hellen Heels (Marie Luv), these Betties terrorize the locals and protect the only thing they really have – their turf.
My absolute favorite scene of the movie is scene 2, where Trashy Sally meets burlesque queen Paige “The Rage” and dances for her idol in some seedy hotel room. Of course it devolves into totally hot debauchery as they both strip naked and fuck atop the sheets. Seeing both women, with their amazing vintage style, long black hair and curvy bodies, touching each other was enough to make my face a little flushed. Hopefully Bettie Page got a chance to check it out before she passed away. This movie would pin-up legend would be proud.

There are a lot of really great movies nominated this year and we’re really excited to start reviewing our favorite 2009 AVN next week. More and more women have become involved in directing and start their own production companies, and the list of nominees definitely reflects this awesome trend.
One lady we love is alt goddess Joanna Angel and I was excited to see Burning Angel and it’s stars nominated for a boat load of awards this year. I’ve been far too lazy to go through and make a complete list, but fortunately Ms. Angel did it for us over on her blog xoxojoannaangel.com. I’m most excited about the nominations for Best Screenplay and Best Sex Comedy for my favorite spoof of the year, Not Another Porn Movie.

It’s hard to fathom all that’s happened in the past year. It went so quickly, yet 2007 now seems a lifetime ago. Needless to say, I had a lot to be thankful for this past Turkey day; 2008 was simply one of the greatest years of my life.
Most notably, it was the year Sweetheart Video was born. Our first release was in April 2008, and we quickly rose to the top of the food chain (our only real competition being, ironically, my former studio.) We’re up for several AVN awards this year, including Best New Line (i.e., Best New Studio), Best All Girl Release and Best All Girl Scene. We hit the ground running, and almost immediately began to forge new territory and introduce new concepts. My amazing partner/boss Jon Blitt has supported me in each and every one of my ideas (even when his first reaction is “Wha…? Are you kidding me?”). There has been not one moment where I’ve felt less than intense gratitude for Jon and what we’ve built together in this short period of time. His belief in my talent has changed my career and my life in ways I can’t even begin to explain.
On a personal note, I grew tremendously due to all of the changes I had to sort through when this year began. I got to know myself through my own eyes, after having been in a bad relationship for a long time; one where I could only see myself through the critical, unkind gaze of another. This year, my relationships were the antidote to all that. I experienced dizzying, intoxicating love affairs with some of the most beautiful, electrifying people in the industry – if not the entire world. Life opened up to me, and I learned what love, friendship, and compassion are truly about. Anais Nin famously said there are only two types of freedoms in this world: the freedom of the rich and powerful, and the freedom of monks and artists to whom possessions do not matter. I’ve been lucky enough, this past year, to experience a life of freedom in all the ways that count.

Our friends at Triangle Films were just nominated for two 2009 AVN Awards, and it reminded me that I’ve been meaning to watch Erotic Blends since it went live on the site.
Director Kathyrn Annelle has done something I was beginning to think was impossible in adult – captured the beauty of an eclectic group of women without stereotyping or exploiting them. If I am to believe the idea Annelle has presented here, it turns out not all non-white actresses are big booty hoes, spicy sluts, or good dancers. Something to think about… Anyways, this movie has three hot scenes with lots of sexy lesbian lovin’, if you’re into that. I happen to be all about it and have to say this is a really great porno.
This first scene stars one of my favorite ladies, Rebeca Linares, and Marlie Moore, who is apparently 100 feet tall! Moore is a real estate agent, which means we get lots of shots of her bending over to measure things, and that she eventually needs to see the bedroom. It’s pretty apparent what Linares has in mind as she sprawls across the bed and since no one can resist an artist with an accent, Moore joins her soon after. What follows is 30 plus minutes of extreme awesomeness, as these two breathtaking women kiss, finger and fuck. I thought it was pretty sweet when my realtor bought me lunch, but apparently I didn’t take full advantage of that relationship.
The other two scenes are also really good, but Linares and Moore had great chemistry that captured my attention from the first instance. This is definitely a movie made with women in mind.

Last night The Porn Librarian and I stayed up late to chat about girly porn with the Diana Cage on her Sirius OutQ radio show. For those of you not obsessed with dyke media like I am, Diana Cage was the one time editor of both lesbo porno mag On Our Backs and dyke culture magazine Velvet Park (read my interview with them!) and has been involved in the world of lezzie writing for a long time. Now that Cage has her own queer radio show, she packs it full of sexy folks from all over the homo realm to talk about – what else – queers and sex! And if we here at HotMoviesForHer know anything, it’s queers and sex.
Last night’s show went really well and The Porn Librarian and I got a chance to highlight some of the hottest movies and stars porn has to offer, including some of my personal favorites. Aside from just talking about my girly crush and making me blush over the airwaves, we brought up April Flores (swoon) because of her amazingly hot new movie Voluptuous Biker Babes. I won’t try to even explain the plot in this post (read my review here), but I will say, if you like watching hot girls fuck, go check it out. Now.

The 2009 AVN Award Nominees were announced recently and I thought it was a good chance to highlight some great movies that came out in the past year.
For those of you who don’t know, the AVN Awards are basically the Oscars of Adult. Take the red carpet glamor and long winded speeches of Hollywood’s big night – add a healthy does of porn – and you’ve got the industry’s biggest night of the year.
While the evening belongs to the big money studios, they also pay homage to some smaller studios and films – which tend to be the movies I prefer. So, in no particular order, here are my top five 2009 AVN Award nominees.
