Speaking purely as a beginner- the Sidekick Silicone Anal Plug is it! I have only used one other anal toy and it left me feeling not so excited to try anything new or different, but thankfully part of my job is to experiment, so here I am with an anal toy in my hands.
This review is directed to anyone who is nervous and/or curious about anal play. For those of you who have had a multitude of toys in your ass, this may come across as boring.
As shown in the picture, this toy us made of two bulbous shapes – a long one and a small one at the top. The indentation at the base works to keep the plug inside once you’ve completed the full insertion. With proper lubrication (only use water-based, not silicone lube), the small bulb slides in without too much force. It feels strange to have something entering instead of exiting, so give yourself a minute to relax and realize there is no pain, just a new sensation.
Once your muscles are fully relaxed, you can insert the remainder of the plug up to the base. The feeling for me was a bit overwhelming. I was thinking that there was no way I was going to enjoy anything with this plug in my ass, so I gave myself a minute to relax. Okay, maybe three or four minutes. It still felt VERY strange. I checked to make sure it was inserted all the way by pushing on the end just a bit more. There is a base to it, so there was no fear of it accidentally slipping all the way into my ass with no escape. After the last small push I felt it enter into the right position and settle. It was not in all the way…
Now I lingered for a while, just allowing my body to feel the different senses I was unaware of that hide in my ass. It was sort of nice. It was very different and yet, very nice. My mind went into all different directions of new possibilities of how I can use this during sex – with my partner, without. It was a kind of letting the cat out of the bag, so to speak, as I lay with a plug in my ass.
It didn’t take long at all for my little mini-vibe to bring on an orgasm. With the toy in my ass, my orgasm felt more intense – nerves and such were pulsing that may have originally been doing so and I didn’t ever know. I thought my muscles were contracting so hard the plug would shoot out of my ass, but it stayed put. It is hard to explain the feeling. Since the first initial try, I have used it three additional times. For someone who felt an ass was for Exit Only, this toy has changed my mind and also opened it to new ideas. Starting small was definitely the way to go and as I gain confidence, there are many toys that will need to be tested and reviewed. I am much more likely to volunteer for the anal toys now that I’ve had a chance to experience the pleasure of it, instead of the uneasiness I had the first time around.
