Being a professional sex toy reviewer has its ups and downs. Sure, I have more dildos, vibes and butt plugs than I know what to do with, but on the other hand, I have more dildos, vibes and butt plugs than I know what to do with. Really how many dicks does one girl need? I only have 2 holes! Don’t get me wrong, I’m far from complaining, it’s just that I like a little bit of variety in my sex toys, just like in my sex life. That’s why I get extra excited when I have the chance to review something totally different.

This time, asked to pick my own selection, I chose to review something I’ve never really tried before – lingerie. While I don’t think it’s something that people think about buying on a sex toy site, EdenFantasys actually has a pretty big variety to choose from. As well, they carry sizing for us zaftig gals, which automatically wins brownie points in my book. I decided to go with DreamGirl’s Satin Chemise Set in black – a three piece package of satin, lace and sexy goodness.

One of the best experiences of ordering lingerie on Eden is that they have a sizing chart that details the sizing specifics of each of the different manufacturers. Sizing varies so much from company to company that I was an XL in one outfit and a 3X in another (so much for vanity sizing, huh?), but Eden gives measurements and dress sizes for each vendor, so I was able to find the right size and fit for the piece that I wanted. No matter what size you are, it’s nice to know that you don’t have to worry about guesstimating and ordering something that doesn’t fit right – because trying something on that makes you feel bad about your body is the least effective way to get you in the mood for sexytimes.

Ok, on to the Satin Chemise Set. When I received the package, I was pleasantly surprised to find the lingerie wrapped in pink tissue paper inside the box. Sure it was still in a plastic bag to show that it was new and keep it clean, but the tissue paper made me feel like it was a specialty item and definitely classed it up. The actual set is comprised of three parts – the chemise, a thong and a lacey ribbon with a tie that can be used as a garter or a choker.

The Satin Chemise may not be a Victoria Secret specialty, but for under $35, it’s definitely a quality piece that makes you feel super sexy and risqué. It is a black satin sheath with a lacey bodice and lace trimmings. The satin chemise is totally curve-hugging without being skin-tight and falls to the tops of your thighs, just barely showing the thong underneath. As well, the spaghetti straps are adjustable, which is awesome, because they actually keep the bust from feeling too roomy – a problem I come across often with clothes that are designed for plus size women. I guess I have smaller boobs that other people my size, so I was expecting for the chemise to be way too large in the bust, but like I said above, the adjustable straps made it fit perfectly without extra bunching or anything. I was impressed.

While I’m not much of a thong type of girl, it came with the set, so I decided to give it a go. For such a small piece of fabric, the tiny black thong was surprisingly comfortable. The allure of having my ass sticking out was pretty nice, but my partner and I both decided that we prefer me with full bottomed undies or with nothing at all. And frankly, I support the latter.

Because I didn’t read the description carefully enough before I got the set, I was super confused about the garter/choker. I remembered from the picture that the set had a garter, but once I got it in the mail, the picture on the tag showed the woman wearing it as a choker. Apparently you can do either with it, though I opted to go with the garter. I think it was a smart move on their part to go with a tie-able garter instead of the elastic kind because with the ties people can adjust the tightness and go with a fit that works best for them. I did take the giant white tag off of the garter before I put it on though, it looked silly with it still attached (I think that was probably what you were supposed to do anyway).

All in all, I was really pleased with the Satin Chemise Set. It added a little bit of extra spice to my night without emptying my wallet. The material was sexy, yet comfortable, and it never felt itchy or cheap when I had it on. As well, it was a big plus for me that they don’t skimp on the sexy wear for larger sizes. While I don’t have them, I imagine an ample rack would look mighty hot under that lacey floral bodice. Definitely worth a looksie.
