I’m a bit of a lube snob at this point, but I’ve had a few friends tell me that I have to give Empowered Products Pink line a try. I decided to start with Pink Water – I’m a huge fan of water-based lube mostly because I have so many silicone toys.
The first thing that stood out for me is the cute and functional bottle. I love that the top locks so if you decide to take it on a trip, you’re decreasing the chances of opening up your suitcase and finding a mess. Of course, I haven’t traveled with mine yet, so I can’t speak from experience, but it seems pretty secure. The pump dispenser is also really handy because it dispenses a manageable amount of lube each time. In the heat of the moment, it’s easy to end up with a ridiculous amount of lube with a standard squeeze bottle.
The next thing I noticed was the long ingredient list and at first I was too excited about it. After further review, the list wasn’t quite as scary as I feared. I’m pleased to say that there isn’t any glycerin in Pink Water and they’ve also included ginseng, aloe vera and avena sativa, which work as moisturizers and add a little extra tingle! The only bad thing that really stood out is the inclusion of parabens, but they aren’t a huge red flag for me personally, like glycerin is.
When it comes to how this product performed, I have to say I was pretty impressed. It’s slick and really works well to enhance a woman’s natural lubrication. While I’ve never used a water-based lube that lasts as long as silicone, this one is right up there with the best water-based products. It’s also really affordable, so if you’re looking to save some money, you might want to give this one a shot.
My only real complaint is that I don’t like the taste. There’s a weird sweet taste that I’m guessing can be attributed to the aspartame. The good news is that after the initial flavor, there isn’t much of an aftertaste, but this definitely isn’t one I’d use for oral play.
While this product isn’t perfect (sadly, no lube is) I can recommend it because it performs well and is priced very reasonably. If you have issues with parabens, steer clear, but overall I think it’s a good product.
