I decided to do something a little different with this week’s Top Five Tuesday since JD and I are headed to NYC for the 2010 Sex Bloggers Calendar launch party this Friday. We usually highlight our favorite movies and actors here, but I figured this is a great opportunity to convince those of you who are on the fence about attending to be there because it’s an amazing party.
1. It’s for a good cause! This year’s calendar will raise funds to support Woodhull Freedom Foundation. Woodhull is a national organization whose mission is to affirm sexual freedom as a fundamental human right. Sounds pretty good, right? I don’t know about you, but if buying a hot calendar packed full of sexy images results in more funds for a great organization, I’m down.
2. Nina Hartley! That’s right – the legendary lady will be there and performing! I can’t even explain how exciting this is for me.
3. Everyone else. There’s no way I can even list all of the people we’re looking forward to seeing, but I’ll name a few we mention on the blog often: Dylan Ryan, Jiz Lee, Carol Queen and our former co-worker Shanna Katz. Plus tons of our blogger and industry friends like the lovely hosts Diva and Tess.
4. Spreading the Porno Gospel. We have super awesome jobs and it’s so great that we get to attend really cool sex positive parties and spread the world about all of the good XXX available now. We’ll have free minute cards, stickers and plunging necklines, so make sure to find us!
5. Late night dumplings at Vanessa’s. That’s right, the party is right across the street from one of the cheapest and best late night dumpling houses in the city.
Ok, so I know this is supposed to be the top five reasons to be there, but if you’re not quite convinced yet, here’s one more reason you should go.
6. We’ll be there and this is how hard we rock:
The calendar launch party will be held on Friday, October 1st, 2010, at Fontana’s, 105 Eldridge St, NYC, from 6:30 – 9:30. Not only is the party free but the first 200 guests will receive FREE gift bags that include free minute cards for our site!
