The New York Sex Bloggers Calendar Party Recap!

Last Friday, The Porn Librarian and I traveled from our respective states and descended up on New York City to help the New York City Sex Bloggers celebrate the release of their 2010 calendar with a night of debauchery and partying.  As HotMovies4Her helped sponsor the calendar, we were graciously invited to the pre-party party to get a chance to spend a little extra time  with our favorite bloggers.

The PL and I both arrived at our hotel in Brooklyn at about the same time on Friday, excited to both see each other (we only meet face-to-face about twice a year) and for the party.  After grabbing a snack and making a quick change into our party finery, we headed over to Fontana’s in Chinatown to start our evening.   We were some of the first pre-party guests to arrive, which turned out to be awesome, as we got a chance to look at all the insanely awesome raffle prizes the sex bloggers had rounded up to give away.  Check out this list for a complete overview of the amazingness (including t-shirts from us!).  And we got a sneak peek of the gift bags for the party as well.  Those bags were seriously packed with stuff… lots and lots of pervy stuff, including free HM4Her minutes and stickers!

We were super sweetly welcomed by the fabulous  hostesses for the evening – Diva and Urban Gypsy, and directed to the tasty treats of the pre-party, including some seriously delicious mini cupcakes.

As the party opened to the public,  the venue quickly got crowded, though in the mix we were able to spot and hang out with some of our favorite blog/porn folks.

We finally met some of our twitter friends and people we email back and forth with, thought it definitely took introductions – it’s surprisingly hard to recognize people from a half inch square picture!  It was so nice to see some of the same folks as last year, including Audacia Ray and Sinclair Sexsmith (who recently wrote up a movie review for us!).

We also got a chance to hang out with a few of our favorite San Francisco queer porn people, Syd Blakovich and Jiz Lee!  I got to meet them originally back at the Feminist Porn Awards last April, but this was the first time The Porn Librarian was able to meet them in person.  Seriously the nicest people ever, and totally rad to chat with.  Hurray for smart, sexy queers!

Here is The Porn Librarian checking out the new calendar with Syd Blakovich.  As of twitter this morning, Syd was still trying to coax the PL to lose the turtle neck and bare a little skin.

While we were hanging out with Jiz, we also got a chance to meet Fleshbot editor Lux Alptraum, who is pretty much awesome too.

And though we didn’t win anything in the raffle (sigh, Eleven, I’ll have you yet!), we made sure to try our hand at guerrilla marketing, which was a smashing success.

Oh, and on Victoria from Eden Fantasys’ recommendation, we got the most amazing dumplings and sesame pancakes for only a few bucks per person.  Ridiculously good doesn’t even cover it.

All in all, the trip and the party were a ton of fun and the calendar is amazing.  It outshines last year’s calendar, which I thought would be impossible.  Totally hot.  Definitely get one.
