What is erotic to you? Filmmaker Petra Joy wants to know. Joy is looking for a few good women – great ones, in fact, that are just starting out in the adult biz and want to make porn by women, for women and break all the tired porn clichés.

In association with Pjur, Petra has announced The Joy Award, the first international Erotic Film Award for New Female Directors! Taking submissions for all types of films (from fetish to vanilla, lesbian to straight, documentary to animation) Joy wants to see “What is erotic to you,” with only the caveat that they all must be under five minutes long. Prizes include cash and a shot at the big screen during “Pornfilmfest” in Berlin, Oct. 22-25, 2009 for the top three finalists. As well, specially selected films will get the chance to be published on Petra Joy’s forthcoming compilation “Her Porn, Volume Two” as a special feature.

A vetran director and producer of porn for women, Petra Joy created The Joy Award to:

Inspire first time female film-makers to take control, get behind the camera and show erotica – from a female perspective. With the support of pjur I would like to help talented film-makers to finance and publish their future films. My wish is that this award will help to make more female fantasies visible and more female erotic film-makers seen and heard!
