While I wish a post with this title was about science and cute girls, unfortunately it’s not.  But it is pretty freaking funny…

A German science magazine thought they’d be clever and feature what they thought was a Chinese poem on the cover of their issue focusing on China.  Turns out the image they purchased from a photo agency was, in fact, not of a poem, but of text reading “Hot Housewives in action!” and “Our young housewives have figures that will turn you on.”  While readers – especially Chinese readers – were shocked, the maazine’s bosses admitted that they had never sold so many copies.  Guess that goes to show that sex sells even the most mundane of things.

And let this be a lesson.  If you’re planning to use a foriegn language for something important, make sure you know exactly what it translates to.
