Porn is coming to the… live theater stage?  In musical form!  Strange, but true!  New York’s experimental group, the Civilians, and L.A.’s Center Theatre Group are in the works of creating a stage musical about the San Fernado Valley’s porn industry (otherwise known as ‘porn valley’).  The show will “will explore the real-life stories of the people who work in California’s pornography industry,” according to the Center Theatre Group.

The initial phase of the project has “the creative team [going] behind the scenes and learn[ing] about the human side of this business, looking at the work and lives of directors, performers, producers, crew — everyone with a story to tell.”

Members of both theater groups have begun canvassing the valley for interesting stories. The Civilians use what they call an investigative approach to theater — that is taking real-life stories and interpreting them for the stage.

Pretty cool, huh?

While I’ve seen my fair share of musical pornos (who can forget Misty Beethoven: The Musical?  Pure genious!), but I can’t even imagine how this will turn out.  Hopefully nothing like that live sex show I saw in Amsterdam… I’ve never seen two people that looked less interested in fucking.
