There’s no one word or label that can be used to describe Sophia St. James. She is a variety of things, including a queer femme, West Indian, curvy BBW, dominant, sassy, and gentle, but definitely not only these things.
As far as her background, it’s extensive—she has been a sex worker, erotic entertainer (stripper and burlesque performer), fashion/pin-up/glamour model, FemDom, porn starlet, event planner/promoter, mama, switch, daddy’s girl and slut with an insatiable hunger for all things sexual.

1. How (and when) did you get started in the industry?
In December of 2009, I had slipped off my porch and broke my elbow and torn my meniscus in my right knee. I was laid up in my bed for weeks and while there I was surfing the internet. I came across an article about Madison Young and Syd Blakovich. I then started looking up queer porn and I got hooked. I applied with No Fauxxx and Crash Pad Series and the rest is history.
2. If you weren’t in the adult industry, what would you be doing?
I would be working in the healthcare profession. I have a need to care and heal others…
3. What’s the best thing you’ve learned or best advice you’ve received from industry?
I would have to say to stay true to yourself. Never allow anyone to tempt you with greatness for being something someone else wants you to be. You can achieve greatness by just being you.
4. What’s the funniest thing that’s happened while filming?
While filming in Tucson with Maria Beatty for Post Apocalyptic Cowgirls 2, we were filming the second to the last scene and we were all tired and dirty. We were in the middle is a gangbang scene and we needed more lube for the titty fuck. Instead of squirting lube on my breasts, it went on my lips and in my mouth. LOL!
5. What do you think is the biggest misconception about women in the industry?
That we are all taken advantage of and not allowed to think for ourselves. I think most have the idea that we are all ‘forced’ into the industry. That we are all made to performs sex acts that we don’t agree with. My experience with the industry is that I have always had the freedom to say no if it doesn’t seem right or something I am not into.
6. What did you do today?
I woke up and had a parent/teacher conference, lol (yes, I am a parent too!), then had a phone meeting with my distributor. Now, I am editing film while watching ‘Dodgeball’
7. What would you rather have done today?
I love my life. So I wouldn’t change a thing…
8. If you could do a movie with anyone (living or brought back from the dead) who would it be?
Mmm, well I admire many people in the industry. I would love to do a film with Nica Noelle. She has such great films and in such great taste. I would also love to work with Wolf Hudson because he is such a down to earth guy with an amazing sense of humor. And Sinnamon Love, she is so amazing at what she does. She’s a hard working woman. Oh (lol) and Josephine Baker. She was a fierce dancer and being a burlesque performer at heart I would love to do a duet with her.
9. Who is your favorite adult performer?
Of course, Belladonna. She is so real and raw. She follows her passion and makes things happen.
10. You’ve got 20 bucks left to your name; what would you do with it?
I would get some white chocolate and red wine and relax by my fireplace in my pink snuggie.
11. If you were president, what’s the first thing you’d change?
I would change the laws to include any and all discrimination against individuals based on sex, gender, and/or sexuality and make it a federal crime. Punishable by torture, flogging, and caning by a team of the most sadistic Dommes in the nation. 
12. What’s the most embarrassing thing you’ve ever done?
Walked out of a bathroom in a club and had my skirt stuck in my garter belt. LOL! Needless to say it was caught before I got too deep into the club.
13. Which is your favorite project that you’ve worked on?
That would be the set of my first film. That entire weekend was filled with laughs and sex. We all got along great and we were able to connect outside of the reason we were all there for.
14. If you could have 1 superpower what would it be?
To change into object at any time.

Depends, but I’d go with meat most the time.

I got accepted into Stanford right out of high school for the pre-med program. I chose to continue my modeling career and become a stripper. Ha!
