I’ve always been intrigued by the swinger lifestyle. Maybe it has something to do with discovering my mother’s taped episodes of Real Sex as a kid. There’s just something interesting to me about the notion that a couple can be so emotionally trusting and in love that they realize sex is just a physical manifestation of their love – and therefore can and should be shared with others who feel the same way.
The crew at Shane’s World does a wonderful job of accurately representing this lifestyle. They follow a couple who goes on a “date” with another couple from Shane’s World to feel each other out. After a day of paintball and yoga, the couple being followed isn’t ready to jump right in to the action but has no problem watching. The couple talks about how this is perfectly normal and it can sometimes take a few “dates” before anything goes down. The Shane’s World crew and the first couple also go to a swinger club and an after party where things really heat up.
All in all, it was a great movie. Not only was it informative about the swinger lifestyle, but I also like to watch real sex. Big, fake breasts and crazy positions are nice but there’s something really sexy about real people having bonafied sex – it allows you to put yourself in the scene and fantasize about your partner. I’m not sure that the swinger lifestyle is for me, but it’s definitely hot to watch.
