How excited was I when The Porn Librarian sent this movie to me to check out. I mean really, who better to review a movie called Master’s Degree than someone who just completed her own Master’s degree in human sexuality? As a Master of Sex (what I like to call myself these days), I knew that I was totally ready to see what this movie touted as the “first sex education film of all time” offered.

While this is an educational film of sorts, I should begin by saying that it is like no instructional I’ve ever experienced. More sex therapy-ish than instructive, this ‘70s classic had a psychologist going over the subject’s issues while they fucked on the screen. It was pretty interesting to listen to, but a total boner killer when it came to getting hot. Also, it came across as super judgmental, though that may have been more about the fact that it was shot nearly 40 years ago. Seriously, the narrator/psychologist actually says “Lesbianism is one more of the tempting deviations which modern women face.” I can honestly say I never thought I’d hear that in a porno! I’m definitely trying to cut this classic a little slack, but I was pretty disappointed with this movie that I was so excited to watch.
