Studio: Vivid Premium Category: Hipsters

Ok porn fans, I’m super excited about the title I’m going to be reviewing today. Why? Because it’s all about “Content” that’s why. A friend suggested I take a look at Vivid Premium’s “Content” and from the moment that I read its description I had high hopes for this alternative look into porn. Can it titillate both my mind and body? I’m looking forward to finding out.

Almost immediately words flash on the screen almost faster than I can read them, even with my special hentai subtitles training. Thankfully I have a secret weapon in the war against written word on film – pause! None of it turns out to be important, just blurbs of information and random instances of humor. One thing I should admit straight up – I really love alt-porn guys. The leaner look and all those pretty tattoos are way hotter than your average bulky, bland male porn star (sorry Alex, I still love you though). When it comes down to what I want to see naked, hot, leanly muscular and tattooed men are at the very top of my personal list. There are definitely plenty of them in this movie; one of them even has glasses!

The sex is hot heavy and all kinds of dirty. Sometimes the sex is so fast furious and hardcore the word ‘brutal’ comes to mind, of course the words ‘passionate’ and ‘uninhibited’ also come to mind. But at something like 30 minutes long, each, they were way longer than I thought was entertaining. Thankfully there’s the set up and the after shots of each scene to really make them shine. During these moments I got a glimpse at the inner workings of an alt-porn shoot. Unfortunately these moments were shorter and shorter as the movie progressed until there wasn’t really a moment at all.

In the end it seemed that the content of “Content” was reduced to those quick bursts of keywords at the beginning of a scene and the rest was nearly all straight up rough sex. Which technically is usually what we porno peeps mean when we’re talking about content but still I suppose I was looking for the pink unicorn: sex and content beyond sex. Perhaps the original social commentary on what porn means today in an over saturated world was a bit too much for the director to pull off but I have a feeling that this wall to wall banging is exactly what they were looking to convey. So sad I had high hopes for this one. Good enough to get me in the door but definitely not good enough to bring me back for more. Watchable for a quick masturbatory aid not really something you’ll rave to your friends about or want to watch together with your significant other.
