Sometimes it’s surprising how true to life a porn plot can be. Lisa and Keith are in love – complete with sensual, passion-driven fucking (though Keith’s socks stay on, which I just can’t condone) and a ring – until a misunderstanding ends everything suddenly. Sound familiar? And even closer to reality, when the breakup happens, exes come out of the woodwork, friends start trashing the failed relationship within hours and try to get them laid.
Though, with a dead on plot, you run the risk that crappy acting will only be magnified. But our star Angelina Hart, as the title’s Lisa, steps up to the challenge and nails the role (yes, pun is quite intended) with convincing tears, a heartbreaking pout and the realistic half-hearted enjoyment of post breakup hookups. This movie also gets a thumbs-up in the music department, offering up a jazzy/lounge soundtrack that I’d turn the movie on just to listen to.
But what really stood out for me was scene 6, when random ex-girlfriend comes to seduce Keith and he turns her down. How often do you see that! I love that she is totally unfettered by his rejection and gets down solo on top of his kitchen table. Hot!!
And one last thing…you know you’re watching a decent movie when between sex scenes, you get a good two-minute ping-pong interlude, which, if you really thought about, is integral to the plot. Unfortunately no one actually gets fucked on the ping-pong table. Oh well, maybe next time.
