It’s hentai day! Today I’ve picked “A Time To Screw” to take a look into. Things get pretty weird with this one almost immediately. For example: why are these naked bathing ladies arguing about the hotness of Einstein? Yup weird and I mean that in the sense of all the hentai I’ve ever seen weird by even hentai standards. Things only get weirder as a voiceover starts talking about stealing all these women as well as his identity from his brother and fucking them silly. Ok, color me completely confused.
For entirely unknown reasons almost every woman in a large mansion suddenly becomes uncontrollably horny. So horny that they stop behaving like Japanese women or even your average American porn star and literally beg for cock while being derided as dirty boring whores. One older wheel chair bound woman actually attempts to crawl to the only man present and gets kicked in the face for her trouble.
Think that’s random? Wait till you see the maid who stuffs three pool balls up her pussy and one in her ass. “Sex and death are inseparable” – a line from the movie that kind of sums up both its weirdness and its sadism one of the few I think/hope was translated correctly. “Even if my cruelty and sadism leave me hollow and self loathing – so what – I like who I am,” see either that’s wrong or it’s just stupid since if that were true the self loathing bit wouldn’t apply. One last quote from the same section of the movie because it was kind of awesome, even if it isn’t a correct translation: “you’re a fucking cockroach with two heads, you’re a festering boil on a wild boars ass, you’re a pizza delivery man with no car!” I have to say though that despite those amusing tidbits above the dialogue or whatever crappy translation we’ve got of it mostly really sucks.
Sadistic, weird assed plot and all, I was ok till we got to about 47 minutes in. I’ve said it before I’m not really a fan of food and sex together but add in their ‘special’ ingredient and the party is completely over for me. Not only was it over – but I had to take a minute. “A Time To Screw” is one of those animated offerings from Japan that’s deliberately not meant to make complete sense. I don’t even think it’s really meant to be sexy so much as an envelope pusher, the way it jumps around from place to place and act to act it’s impossible to feel like you’ve got a full scene from the thing. “A Time To Screw” gets three full “what the hells” from me and one solid “what the fuck” watch at your own risk.
