So I have to admit that I am pretty underwhelmed with KY Brand Warming Liquid. I’ve got a shoebox full of lubes, so my standards are set kind of high, and this is not a product I would rummage through my collection for.
First up, let me highlight the ingredient list:
Glycerin – many women are sensitive to it and it can cause vaginal infection
Propylene Glycol – see problems with glycerin
Maltodextrin – weird, but no further comments
Honey – wft?
Methylparaben – parabens are becoming increasingly controversial and good to avoid
Sucralose – fucking splenda
Now, let me be honest, you’ll find one or more of these ingredients in a lot of lubes and every day products. However, as a whole, this list is telling me that they aren’t overly concerned with the well-being of my girl parts.
In the bedroom, I’d say this is OK as a lubricant. I personally didn’t feel any warming sensation, but my partner said she did, but that it wasn’t mind blowing. It is a water-based lube, which means it is compatible with all kinds of sex toys and latex condoms. Clean up is a snap and it isn’t sticky or gross. One major turn off for me is the taste. I’m not sure if it’s the splenda or what, but this lube has a sour, sweet, chemical taste that makes me want to immediately brush my teeth. It also kind of made my tongue numb. Awesome.
Anyways, If you’re on your honeymoon and someone forgot to pack the lube, you could run to the local CVS and pick it up and it would be ok, but I wouldn’t recommend this to someone as their go-to product. It’s found in all sorts of mainstream stores, so it is convenient, but I would recommend people who are looking for a better lube go out of their way, spend a little more money, and get a product that performs better and is made with your health in mind.
I recommend Pjur Aqua if you’re looking for a water-based lube and talk about a couple of my favorite silicone lubricants in an earlier post.
Also, we’ve reviewed a bunch of lube in the past, so if you’re serious about lube, check out all of them here!

I’m new to the world of stimulating gels, so I’m pleased to be able to report my fondness for Tantric Lovers Stimulating Gel. I had a few reservations after hearing horror stories of women running into the shower after applying a product that made them feel like their girl bits were on fire, but haven’t had any bad experiences so far.

With the economy in the tank, we all have to be a little more aware of how we earn our hard earned bucks, but that doesn’t mean we should do without in the bedroom. It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of lube and this is definitely not a place you want to do without, in my opinion. For those of you who can’t shell out $20 an ounce for your favorite lube without getting a stomach ache, I present the Liquid Sex line! Today I want to highlight three of their glycern/paraben-free products. That’s right, you don’t need to expose your body to those nasty chemicals just because you’re trying to save some money.

Back to our quest to find the perfect lube for you! As I mentioned in my earlier piece on silicone lubricants, most lubricants are either water or silicone based. While you’ll often hear me rave about Silicone lube, there are also a few deal-sealing pros you should know concerning water-based products. They definitely have a place in every woman’s bedroom.
A lot of people think that water-based lubricants resemble a woman’s natural wetness closer than any other and I tend to agree. A good product will keep things wet and wild without even being noticed! For this reason, if you’re new to the lube game, you should consider a water-based product.
Another great thing about water-based lube is that it is compatible with basically everything. No matter what toy you reach for during the heat in the moment, there’s no worry about incompatibility like if you’re using a silicone lube. You don’t also don’t have to worry about water-based products breaking down condoms, dental dams, or any other safer sex accoutrement.

Years ago, before I was smart enough to know that lube is a girl’s best friend, I was a naïve college kid hooking up with a grown up. Of course, by grown up I mean someone who was in their early twenties but had a job and paid their own rent. This wonderful lady introduced me to the world of casual sex, lube, and Indian food. For that I owe her.
So back to my first lube experience. I was lucky. First, because she was a thoughtful and caring woman who noticed my quizzical look when she tossed me a bottle of lube and took the time to explain that it would just make things a little more fun. My first thought was that I didn’t think we needed any help in this department, but I quickly learned that a little lube goes a long way. Secondly, I was lucky because she had good lube. A number of years later, I’m still a fan of O’My and, after having tried a number of inferior products, am grateful that my first experience wasn’t a sticky mess.

Who ever knew it would be so hard to review lube? I’ve been testing water-based products for quite some time and the good news is that I officially have a favorite! Out of the ten or so products I’ve put to good use lately, I’d have to say that Pjur Aqua is the best for me.
Because I have a lot of silicone toys, a good water-based lube is an essential in my home. There are a few common complaints you’ll hear about water-based lube including that it can be sticky and that it tends to dry up over time. My favorite thing about Aqua is that it isn’t sticky at all. It’s a really thin product (which means it’s not a good lube for anal play) that really enhances a woman’s natural lubrication. In my experiences, and there have been many, I haven’t found stickiness to be a problem. Worst case scenario, I’ve had to reactivate the product with a little saliva – which can be quite fun anyways!

Finding the perfect lube is not an easy task! There are at least a million different products available, which can be totally overwhelming if you’re not sure what you’re looking for. The first thing you should consider is what basic formulation is best suited for you – silicone or water-based. While these aren’t the only kind of lubes you’ll find, the majority fall into either category.

I’ve mentioned a couple of times that I’m in the middle of “researching” a big piece on different types of lube. I’m about half way through the giant box of lube I received from VibeReview.com, but I have to tell you about one pleasant surprise I received last night.
First, I should say, that I’m not a big fan of flavored lube for a couple of reasons. The first is that I’m scared of yeast infections. I know not all flavored lubes have sugar in them, but I tend to think of flavor lube as being a novelty product sold by companies who don’t care about the health of my lady parts. The second reason is that I’m a big fan of pussy. I love the way it tastes and don’t understand why you’d rather lap up strawberry flavored chemicals.

I’ve read a lot lately about bringing green ideals into the bedroom. Of course, the ever-conscious people over at Babeland have a new organic lube to help you save the earth and your girl parts!
Naked is a water-based lube (which means it’s perfect for all the silicone toys I love to recommend) and doesn’t contain petrochemicals, parabens, or anything else you shouldn’t expose your body to.
It’s also vegan and I have to admit I didn’t realize how fantastic that was until I told my hippie-vegan friend and she freaked out. From her reaction, I’m guessing that vegans all over the world are twirling around in celebration of this new product. As a rule, I try not to expose my cooch to any meat products after seeing an unfortunate video that involved a pork tenderloin, so I’m pretty stoked too.

I am a firm believer in the use of lubricant. I’ve heard people who think there’s something wrong with them if they aren’t soaking through their panties with every sexual encounter, and it’s just not true. Even if you are dripping wet initially, a little extra lube 30 minutes in can keep the action going through the night without irritation.
Now personally, I try to stay away from lubricant that has an ingredient list a mile long and includes a million items I can’t even pronounce, but when I received a bottle of Climax Bursts – Cooling for a review I was intrigued. I’ve enjoyed warming lubes in the past and was looking forward to cooling things off, despite my concerns about the long list of chemicals.
Overall, I have mixed feelings about this product. I was impressed with the product’s longevity, especially for a water-based lube. There was no need to reapply after a short time, one squirt was all it took to keep things plenty slick. The cooling factor was ok, but didn’t last very long and wasn’t something that blew my mind like KY Warming Liquid. If you’re totally into playing with temperature, this product is one you may want to try, and it’s pretty cheap so it won’t break the bank.
Otherwise, if you’re new to lube or just looking for a quality every day bottle, I’d recommend Pjur Woman – Aqua. It’s non-toxic, odorless, chemical and preservative-free so you don’t have to worry about anything but getting off!
