Happy July 4th! Well, July 3rd really, but does it seem crazy to anyone else that July is here already at all? Anyway, it’s Independence Day tomorrow, so let’s kick back and start the celebrations today.
I’ve been waiting for July 4th to land on a Saturday so I could use this song for something and I am suuuper excited to finally get the chance! Plus is video really encompasses the spirit of the holiday… or at least all the eating and chillin’ out we should be doing.

Let me begin by saying that I love my new Sports Cuffs. If you’ve been eyeing them, you should just go ahead and buy a pair. They’re freaking awesome.
The first thing that set these apart for me is comfort. They’re made out of neoprene, which is really soft, incredibly durable and easy to clean because it has a closed cell structure that keeps out dirt and grime. The closure is made out of Velcro, so they’re adjustable and perfect for people with little tiny wrists like me. They fit snuggly on my ankles or wrists, without any pinching or chafing and I love it!
While comfort is important to me, it’s also crucial that there’s no escaping any cuffs we use. Once secured, there was no way I was going anywhere without a little help. Each cuff has a sturdy O ring, which made them the perfect accessory to my Under the Bed Restraints!
While I totally love these, there are a couple of things you should think about before purchasing. First up, these are not really sexy cuffs. This means nothing to me, but if you’re super into leather or looking to accessorize in the dungeon, you may not love these. They are definitely more function than form.
You should also think about the fact that they are really comfortable. I’m guessing some people love the bite of a leather cuff into the soft flesh of their wrist as they struggle in bondage. I’m not one of those people, but if you are you might not want to purchase these super comfy restraints.
Overall, I’m a huge fan of these cuffs and recommend them highly. They’re cheap, secure and built to last.
There are a number of porn movies that fall into the grey area between art and sex. Some even merge the two to the point that you can’t even really tell what you are watching. Sure people are fucking, but what’s with Santa Claus carrying the inflatable donkey? This movie is not one of them. This is the Art of Sex, an actual examination of the artistry behind passionate sex. This movie looks into the sensuality that sex can create and takes the phrase “making love” literally.
But don’t think this is some boring, soft focus flick. Nope. There is hot triple X action, with plenty of naked bodies, moaning and fast paced fucking. As well as kissing, passion and real orgasms. Whether the performers are real couples or not, there is definitely real chemistry between each pair.
While I really like what this movie has to offer and the attention it pays to making sure each person is enjoying themselves, I didn’t see any one scene that really stood out to me as a favorite. All five were equally pretty good, but none were amazing. For me, I need to really be in the right mood when I watch a sensual video, and right now I wasn’t feelin’ it – though at another time I might have felt differently. I will say that one big turn off for me was that there was no music. While I love actually hearing the sounds of sex while I watch porn, I really prefer a little something in the background to keep it interesting.
If you are looking for a sensual adventure and a porn to perk your passion, this is the one to watch!

Happy Humpday! Welcome back to the mid-week stretch. This week is a short one for most of us, with July 4th coming up on Saturday. I love me a holiday that only requires eating BBQ and laying on the grass to watch pretty light bursts in the sky. Oh, and Sheryl Crow, if you’re in Philly. Having Friday off just sweetens the deal. I was first introduced to Paul Krassner’s writing through his column on AVN.com. I was immediately struck by how funny and honest he was and found myself looking forward to his next piece. After doing a little research, I discovered that he has a long history of awesomeness and began seeking out more of Krassner’s social and political commentary. He’s one of those people who has the balls to say what we’re all thinking and then take it one step further.
When I got my hands on a copy of In Praise of Indeceny, a collection of essays and interviews by Krassner, I was totally excited and dove right in. After devouring it in a couple of sittings, the only bad thing I have to say is that there wasn’t enough! For a guy who has been writing since long before I was born, I’d love to see a more comprehensive collection.
If you don’t know Krassner’s work, this is a great introduction. It contains 25 great pieces starting with and interview by Susie Bright and ending with a piece on women and porn that contains quotes from Tristan Taormino, Candida Royalle and Carol Queen. Packed in the middle are rants about pubic hair, the taste of cum and Snoop Dogg. It’s smart, funny and bound to make you think – what more could you ask for?
One word of warning for fans, I had previously read a number of the included pieces, so if you’re looking for new content, this is not the book for you. If you’re interested in owning a great collection of writing from the only person in the world ever to win awards from both Playboy and the Feminist Party Media Workshop, don’t hesitate to pick up a copy. I spent an afternoon on the beach laughing out loud and engaging my friends in debate regarding his ideas and definitely recommend it.
Earlier this month I ran a workshop on anal play for a local toy shop. Since the class turned out so great and people had so many great questions, I decided to share my handout with our HM4Her readers to make sure that you guys are getting the best of the best when it comes to sex education. There was so much info that I had to break it into two parts (check out Intro to Anal Play, Part 1)! What what in the butt, let’s get to it!
In the first section I covered all the basics of why people have anal sex, the fears surrounding anal play, the expectations involved with anal sex and all of the basic anatomy of the butt. Now we get to talk about safety, prep, techniques and toys – all the super sexy good stuff!
Safety Basics
- Anal sex should not hurt. If it hurts, you are doing something wrong.
- Lube, Lube Lube, Lube, Lube! When it comes to butts, you can never use enough lube! Your ass does not self lubricate (like a vagina) so lube is super, extra important. For anal sex, thicker lubes are great. Your best bet is either silicone or water-based lube (as oil-based lubes can weaken condoms, if you are using them), but remember that you cannot use silicone lube with silicone toys.
