Gino

I’m hesitant to say that my first experience with a sex toy was lackluster, but I guess I should be honest. Bullets just aren’t for me. Since then, I’ve wondered what it is that would make a toy worthwhile in my eyes. Gino has been several steps up in the right direction.

Yet again, I was baffled at the use of a smaller than expected battery source. Triple As this time. I suppose I am energy bias. I prefer Double A batteries for everything. Simply because I know that if push came to shove, I could desperately get by on two for most devices in my apartment. Yet again though, I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of oomph that came through this device with those little electron pockets.

The Gino has 7 settings in all. Three of these are a simple vibration that gains in gradual strength as you rotate through the settings. They aren’t the most exciting, but if you prefer to start off a self love session with a slow warm up, this toy has the perfect steps. Other settings included are: Rollercoaster, Vibrating, Escalating, and Pulsating. These last four settings make the toy worth it.

The toy boasts a built-in control pad. I beg to differ. This isn’t so much a control pad, but one button that cycles through the settings as well as turns it on and off. While it is convenient and there is no learning curve, I can’t agree that it’s the best way for a toy to be controlled. If you really like setting 5 but think it would be best followed by setting 3, be prepared to cycle all the way through. The button is not the most responsive either. At times it would not easily move to the next option and turning it off can sometimes be next to impossible. Twice while aggravated, I just twisted off the end and took out the batteries. Considering your brain just melted from dopamine, it’s a real pain in the ass to try to turn it off and have it keep going through different cycles.

Gino is made of non-porous, phthalates free, hypo-allergenic, food-grade silicone. It is described as having a “velvety” texture. As you already know, we (as should you) care very deeply about the safety of toy material. The packaging is clear as day and does a good job of detailing the product on the outside as well as an easy to read insert. I will always applaud a company that keeps all of their information transparent and available. Particularly cleansing information, which was easy enough for the Gino.

As for the velvety texture itself, meh, I can do without. There is something uncomfortable about it to me. No matter how in the mood I am, I can’t really bring myself to use this toy for all it’s worth based solely upon how this material feels. I understand that this is completely a personal preference though; it feels no different than most silicone toys. The more I look around at toys, the more I see this same velvety texture and that kind of disappoints me.

All personal preferences aside, this toy is a winner. I don’t agree that it is one of the quietest toys. Beneath a blanket, sure, but not something you can easily hide. It packs a real punch though and has some really awesome rhythms compared to the usual few preferences most vibrating toys have. It’s a good looking item, uses its battery power well, and seems like it will withstand the test of time. It cleans well, is waterproof for shower use, but I’d avoid my advice of twisting off the end of it to turn it off if you’re in the tub.

With improved controls and the right lube, I would probably give this a 10. Until then though I’ll leave it with a comfortable 7.5; it’s not perfect, but it isn’t too far off either. So FeelzToyz, I halfway tip my hat to you with a slight curtsy.
