To combat their increasing Chlamydia rates, the U.K. is allowing the antibiotic that treats Chlamydia to be sold over-the-counter. While the patient seeking the drugs must be over 16 and will still need proof of diagnosis, the treatment will not be far easier for people to access. The mail back kit test results will even have tear offs to give to partners so they can get treatment too. Can you even imagine!?! Reccently it’s been reported that French First Lady Carla Bruni has slept with 15 people. This, of course, triggered another session of the great slut debate – otherwise known as ye ole question “how many partners is too many partners?” Some people are totally astonished with Bruni’s staggeringly high 15, while others are blown away by her paltry 15. It’s really a lose lose conversation. My big inquiry is why do other people feel they need to judge others personal decisions and comment on them? And why is one number of sexual partners better or worse than another? I know we are all guilty of these judgements from time to time, but seriously, can we really pinpoint extactly what actions make one woman healthy and sexually active and another woman a promiscucous slut? While the Porn Librarian and I both breifly mentioned last week that we were having a party, I don’t think either of us gave it justice. Our big brother site HotMovies.com reached it’s 100,000 movie (which inlcudes all of the movies on HMFH) which is a big damn deal, so we had a huge blowout to celebrate our accomplishments. We rented out a massive, three-floor club in Philly (where we are based) and partied hard with an open bar, performances by Peek-A-Boo Revue and America’s most dangerous game show Strip For Pain and rubbed elbows with some of the biggest names in the porno world, including the aforementioned Ron Jeremy, Flower Tucci and Joanna Angel. And yes, I know that this reads like a press release, because I just got it off of the press release.
But not to worry, I planned this party – yeah, that’s why I haven’t been blogging as often the last few months… sorry - so I know everything there is to know about the happenings of this debaucherous affair – both in front of and behind the stage. Back at last! With Blogher, vacation and the “I’ve been out of the office for ten days” shuffle when I returned, I haven’t had a chance to blog at all! But thankfully I have returned in one piece and am ready to hit the ground running again with updates galore!
First up, let’s talk about the Blogher conference. It was awesome. It isn’t often that women create a space like that for themselves where techology and personality meet up and it was really cool to see it in effect. That I and got to meet a ton of really cool chicks! I was really lucky to meet fellow sex blogger Fivestar on the first day. Not only does she write for a porn site as well, she was seriously the only other sex blogger there. And queer to boot! We totally brought sexy back to all the mommy bloggers that didn’t get how our blog topics had something in common.
