The Not So Invisible Woman

The Not So Invisible Woman

I read a ton of erotica but for some reason haven’t picked up a lot of erotica memoirs for whatever reason. After reading Suzanne Portnoy’s second book, The Not So Invisible Woman, I’m definitely going to make an effort to read more.

There’s plenty of hot sex packed into this biography, but the greatest thing in my opinion is what you’ll learn as you join Portnoy on her personal sexual journey. She’s detailed as she tells you of sucking off a horse-hung stripper before he performs, but what really holds your attention is her honest account of this and other sexual adventures.

First you should know that Portnoy probably has a lot more in common with your mom than you would initially expect. She’s closing in on menopause and is before anything else, a mother. After ten years of marriage, she found herself suddenly single and that’s when her personal sexual revolution began. She’s unabashed about her experiences and doesn’t seem to mind sharing – lucky for us!

I’ve read other reviews of Portnoy’s work and some of them can be a bit harsh. Accusing her of a multitude of offenses, but mostly I think people just have a hard time accepting that a woman could really be happy without settling down. Portnoy discusses how she’d be happy to find a partner, but that she surely doesn’t need one and I commend her for that.

Overall, this is a fun read that details the life of one honest, adventurous woman. While her lifestyle doesn’t agree with mine, does not mean there’s anything wrong with it. I hope everyone seeks out sexual fulfillment with half of the passion she does.

Lynn approached this book in a really fun, accessible manner, and with almost 100 creative ways to experiment, every woman is sure to find a new aspect of themselves to explore.

As always, Lynn is supportive and responsible in regards to doling out info – reading one of her short lessons is like receiving advice from a close friend. She offers her readers what they need to know to start integrating technology into their sex life while warning of the perils of putting nakey pictures out there for the world to see.

If you’re looking to experiment with teledildonics or just looking to find love (or lust) online for the first time, Lynn will lead you in the right direction. Sure, this book is about sex and experimentation, but it’s also about building confidence and being open with yourself and your partners. Valuable lessons that all of us can benefit from.
