As part of a virtual book tour to celebrate her latest collection “Dirty Girls,” Rachel Kramer Bussel took time out from her hectic schedule to answer our fabulous twenty question interview! Just for the record, I think this is officially the first time HotMoviesForHer.com and Martha Stewart have had something in common!

1. How (and when) did you get started writing erotica?

I started writing erotica while in law school at NYU, and pretty much haven’t stopped. I was reading a lot of erotica at the time, and kindof bored with school, and when I saw a call for a book on sex with celebrities called Starf*cker, I decided to go for it and write a story about Monica Lewinsky. That got published and that made me think I could write more stories.

2. If you weren’t a writer, what would you be doing?

Maybe a publicist, but in all likelihood, I’d probably be doing what I did before this, which is work as an administrative assistant.

3. What’s the best thing you’ve learned or best advice you’ve received?

A good friend of mine once told me that his life is a work in progress, and I try to remember that when things seem like they’re falling apart.

4. What’s the one thing you can’t live without?

My friends.

5. What do you think is the biggest misconception about women and sexuality?

That we are all either sluts or virgins, “bad girls” or “good girls.” People seem to forget that most of us have both sides within us and sometimes we might want to be or act more one way than the other. Also, that if you dress a certain way, it means you act a certain way.

6. What did you do today?

I got my mail at my post office box, and drank some English breakfast tea, checked email and Twittered.

7. What would you rather have done today?

Slept!

8. If you could do a movie with anyone (living or brought back from the dead) who would it be?

Marilyn Monroe. She fascinates me, and has since I was little, and I kindof wonder what her life would be like if she were alive today.

9. Who is your favorite adult performer?

Chloe. She just has this amazing magnetism that I can’t get enough of.

10. You’ve got 20 bucks left to your name; what would you do with it?

I’d probably blow it all at a bookstore; no matter how many books I own or am in the middle of reading, the minute I walk into a bookstore, my book (and magazine) lust is instantly aroused.

11. If you were president, what’s the first thing you’d change?

Aside from getting us the hell out of Iraq, I’d get rid of the global gag rule and strengthen both women’s reproductive rights and access to information/education around sexuality for everyone.

12. What’s the most embarrassing thing you’ve ever done?

Umm…

13. Which is your favorite project you’ve worked on?

It’s usually whatever book is next, because I tend to have a short attention span. I’d have to say my cupcake blog, Cupcakes Take the Cake - it’s a little ray of PG sunshine in my day, and it just makes me instantly happy to look at so many photos of my favorite dessert.

14. If you could have 1 superpower what would it be?

Being able to fly so I could subvert the overcrowded subway.

15. Meat or veggie?

Meat, but I was vegan and vegetarian for a long time, so I have a love for fake meat products as well. And spinach and brussel sprouts, but I am a confirmed carnivore.

16. What is your favorite book?

The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. It’s a brilliant memoir, and one I’ve given as a gift to so many people. I encourage everyone to read (or reread) it.

17. What is your biggest pet peeve?

Slowness – slow thinking, slow walking, slow talking. My mind moves so fast that I get impatient when people can’t keep up.

18. What is your best piece of sex advice for women?

Talk dirty – to your lovers and/or to yourself. It’s amazing how just saying something aloud, whether it’s someone’s name or some dirty words, can change the whole mood of a room. I’m a huge fan of dirty talk, but a little can go a long way.

19. What is your favorite adult movie?

The Fist, The Whole Fist, and Nothing But the Fist (starring, of course, my favorite adult performer, Chloe). It’s funny cause it’s not even like fisting is my favorite sexual activity (more a very rare treat) but this video is just so damn hot. I think it’s imported because fisting is illegal to show in U.S. porn (which is yet another stupid rule imo).

20. Tell me one thing you’ve never told anyone else.

You ask touch questions! I may have told a few people this (or they may have observed it), but my breasts are slightly different sizes and it kinda weirds me out, even though I know it’s common, I still wish they were symmetrical.
