Tera Patrick’s smoldering good looks, killer all-natural body and interesting history long ago made her one of my favorite performers. A fashion model as a teenager, she then attended college to earn an AA in Nursing and a BS in Microbiology. Later, she returned to modeling - transitioning into nude and softcore, and rising to become Penthouse Pet of the Month and AVN’s Best New Starlet in 2000. In 2004, she married Evan Seinfeld (of the band Biohazard and HBO’s TV series “Oz” fame), who also performs with her in movies as Spyder Jonez. Now, she is a major power player in the industry as CEO of her own production company, TeraVision. In addition to her adult work, she has had various appearances in mainstream outlets, including MTV and VH1, the movie “Soul Plane,” and even the cartoon “Aqua Teen Hunger Force” (my personal favorite). We are honored that Tera found time to sit down and answer our twenty questions!
1. How (and when) did you get started in the industry?
I got in the industry in 1999 and the first thing I did was pose in Playboy and Penthouse magazines. I did my first adult movie in 2000, a few months after posing in the magazines… and look where I am today!
2. If you weren’t in the adult industry, what would you be doing?
Either a biologist or a painter living in the south of France!
3. What’s the best thing you’ve learned or best advice you’ve received from the industry?
I would say follow your dreams, stay true to yourself and never sign a contract without getting a lawyer first.
4. What’s the funniest thing that’s happened while filming?
When I was filming “Tera! Tera! Tera!” with Spyder Jonez and Chi Chi LaRue, my dog Chopper kept running in and out of the scene!
5. What do you think is the biggest misconception about women in the industry?
That we’re all strung out on drugs and that we are not smart.
6. What did you do today?
I recorded a voiceover for a new mainstream film, “Porndog: the Adventures of Sadie.”
7. What would you rather have done today?
Today was a great day! After working, I came to my office to see all my fabulous coworkers here at Teravision.
8. If you could do a movie with anyone (living or brought back from the dead) who would it be?
Bettie Page and Marilyn Monroe! What a great three-way!
9. Who is your favorite adult performer?
Savanna Samson!
10. You’ve got 20 bucks left to your name; what would you do with it?
I would buy myself some junk food and I would buy my dog some treats… and we would have a feast together on the beach!
11. If you were president, what’s the first thing you’d change?
I would legalize marijuana!
12. What’s the most embarrassing thing you’ve ever done?
I hooked up with a rugby player one time with a small penis. Instead of having sex, I ran away! I wish I would’ve handled it better.
13. Which is your favorite project you’ve worked on?
I really enjoyed filming the “Reign of Tera” series.
14. If you could have 1 superpower what would it be?
Teleportation… so I don’t have to fly anymore!
15. Meat or veggie?
VEGGIE!
16. What is your favorite book?
I’ve got so many! One is called “365 Days.” It’s an aerial photography book of the world.
17. What is your biggest pet peeve?
People who are cheap!
18. What is your best piece of sex advice for women?
Don’t be afraid to try new things! Let your inhibitions go. There’s no such thing as too wild and too crazy.
19. What is your favorite adult movie?
It’s an old one… “Café Flesh” 1 & 2.
